Used 1992 Toyota Pickup 2 Dr Deluxe 4WD Standard Cab SB for Sale near Athens, GA

1992 Toyota Pickup 4x4 4cyl, 5 speed 150,000 miles, purchased at 30,000 miles. Pros - Very simple and straight forward vehicle. 24mpg in 2wd on highway. Only broke down once in over 10 years, due to a corroded wire leading to the fuel pump. Survived many Detroit and Wisconsin winters, easy and fun to 4wd drift through corners at high speed in snow. Also survived accidental hitting and driving over of many things (tv set, curbs, small tree, etc) that probably would have seriously damaged more fancy trucks. Great climate control. No a/c necessary, except in stop and go traffic. Comfortable bench seat. Very easy to drive. Cheap insurance. Good resale value. Cons - Body disintegrated. Engine slightly more powerful than a hamster in a wheel, so no towing anything remotely heavy. Though I did beat a 70's Land Cruiser in a drag-race down a very bumpy alley once. Rear drums had a tendency to lock-up when humid. Lots of front end dive during braking. Trail braking not recommended. Exhaust apparently made out of untreated body panels. Everything including the manifold had to be replaced. No tach. No cruise control. No low fuel light (leading to me, and my ADD, running out of gas more than once). I don't know what options were available. Very limited interior space with standard cab. Tall peoples' knees will hit glove box.

All that needs to be said is Top Gear. Watch their multi-part episode of reviewing the HiLux, the euro version of the same toyota pickup. It's slightly indestructible. As all Japanese cars, invincible mechanics paired with a crappy body. Also watch Toybota for a good laugh.

You must youtube the TOPGEAR videos "killing a toyota" parts 1,2 and 3. enough said. After watching those videos, i purchased this truck a month later. and after i rolled it, i walked away fine without a scratch. 'nuff said!

This truck has been through hell and back. Also truck is a work in progress. New motor and is getting a new stereo system put in. Must have truck for the man that wants to do it all. VERY FUN!!!!!!!!

I loved this truck, I bought it cheap and it needed a motor, i put a used motor in it and it never ran right. :( this truck was built as tough as them come, over sized 4 piston disk brakes on the front and huge drum brakes on the rear, the rear axle on this thing will turn 38" tires with the right gears and not break. this thing was built to be bullet proof and was. I just had a crappy motor
