Overview

The Mercedes-Benz 190 was an effort by the carmaker to deliver Mercedes quality at an affordable price to a wider range of buyers who couldn't quite afford the pricier models. Nicknamed the "Baby Benz," the 190 was the smallest of the Mercedes models, but it packed a lot of technology under its not-quite-so-aerodynamic but still stylish skin.
In 1990, the 190 was available only in a 2.6-liter, 6-cylinder, 158-hp model, but for 1991 the carmaker added a smaller 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder, 130-hp version. For both models, a 5-speed manual overdrive transmission was standard, with a 4-speed automatic available as an option. A sunroof was standard with the 2.6-liter version, and optional with the smaller-engine model. Driver's-side airbags and ABS brakes were standard on both models, as were power windows, power door locks and air conditioning. Leather seats were available as an option for both models.

Great second car. Great handling. Fun to drive. Nice car to look at, chrome! For a car of this age, it is ageless. Reliable. Compact but not too compact. Acceleration is perfect. Braking is perfect. Safety first and confident. Haven't noticed blind spots. Gas mileage about 26 per gallon. Repair costs fair.

An 2.0D with 500.000km!!!! It droves like a new car, no annoying sound. No breakdowns. Engine still sound like a Suis watch. On internet there Mercs with more than 1 million km and they're still going!! Conclusion: it's an old car, but is was good, verry good.
