Used 1993 Mercedes-Benz 190-Class for Sale near Mobile, AL
How do you take a good thing and make it better? You introduce a limited edition, of course. Or even better, introduce two limited editions. That's was Mercedes-Benz did for the final year of its entry-level, compact 190-class sedan, sending the "Baby Benz" out in style.
Two standard versions were available for the 1993 model year -- an entry-level 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder, 130-hp version, and a more robust 2.6-liter, 6-cylinder, 158-hp model. A 5-speed manual overdrive transmission was standard on both models, with a 4-speed automatic available as an option. Other standard equipment included anti-lock power brakes, power windows, driver's-side airbags, power door locks, and air conditioning.
Limited editions, available for both the 2.3-liter and 2.6-liter models, included sunroofs and leather seats as standard equipment. Special colors, upholstery, interior trim, and wheels were also included with the packages.

(27 reviews)Awesome saloon. The power is great when going down the freeway.Very responsive chassis and super plush. Its not a racecar but comfortable and fun to drive. Deals on these can be found all the time if you have a chance buy one
This is the fourth 190E I've owned. Although this car isn't the one in the picture (that was the one it replaced) it looks almost exactly the same, the only noticable difference being an aftermarket Avantgarde grille. The last one went to the scrap yard purely because some idiot brakedown mechanic fitted the wrong ignition coil which caused a shortcircuit that burnt out the wiring loom. A great thing about these cars is how well they're designed, which means that they are very easy to take apart and put back together. Consequently, having had nothing serious go wrong with the old car other than an electrical fire, I bought another (cheaper, and less well looked after) with the same engine and in the same colour, stripped the old one for any parts that were needed. Performance and handling are reasonable given the spec, fuel economy is also pretty good (especially compared to the 2.6L version I own!) at around 28-32 MPG around town, to 37-41 MPG for motorway driving. It's quiet and comfortable, quick enough in the city, though the 2.6L version really is much better for motorway driving.
Awesome car. Still does 0-60 in about 7 seconds. Superb exhaust note and great on fuel consumption. Doesn't cost a lot to repair. I paid $1.20 for spark plugs. Car is so fun to drive it could only be better if it were a stickshift.
Great car quick, smooth and roomy
Built like a tank and weighed like one too so affected braking, handling and acceleration.
