It about as fast as a slug without modding it. The Cummins Turbo Diesel is a torque monster. Its as solid as a brick wall, so its basicly a civilian tank. Its terrible on road but a blast off road

keep in mind it is a truck, acceleration is decent, brakes are a bit funny, but firm. it handles like a truck. drive train is as reliable as can be, the body is squared and durable. i am personally a fan of the body generation and the interior is holding up much better than my brother's '99. haven't had it long enough to need to fill it up, the odometer is broke at 193,xxx so mileage is unknown. it is definitely fun to drive, even with the 3 speed auto with no overdrive

I hate the gas milage but other then that it is a great truck with 300,000 miles and still running strong. It is fun to drive both on and off the road. Handels great for both road and off road driving

there is nothing better than strong 1st gen dodge cumins 12v it makes th epower u need and if u need more u can get it for free with alittle bit of trying differnt things out and reading a diesel magizine can't beat the drivetrain unless its a automatic but there is quick and pretty simple ways to fix that once u have the knowlge to tear it down dodge cummins all the way
