Reviewed a 1989 Mercury LS Sedan RWD on Oct 23, 2013
I got my vehicle in 2009 for $600 when I didn't have a job. I put more into it with tints and a stereo player right after I got it. I put 100,000 km in 5 years before upgrading to a 1995 Cadillac. I appreciate the old American giants of the road, so I understand what this car is worth. There were a few small things that broke with age and wear, and there are drips and oil leaks. But the engine and transmission are solid. I get about 6.5 km / L to 8.5 km / L depending on the time of year (better in the summers) and type of driving. The car is underpowered and maxes out at 130 km/ hr but it is a smooth joy to ride. On long trips, this car is a pleasure to sit in. The body has some rust, but it has survived surprisingly well for going through Canadian winters. And I was rear ended in this about 3 days after I got it by a Ford 350. I have two small dents on the rear bumper from it, and I simply shook hands with the guy since there was no other damage. Any other car would have crumpled itself. And the trunk has enough space for hiding bodies that would make any New York mobster proud. And a friend said, this car is meant for chauffering a mob Don.
