"Still reliable", "economical", "fun to drive", "cheap repairs and parts", and "great beater" are just some of the descriptions current drivers have of the 1982 Honda Civic they drive.

The introduction of the Civic FE (fuel economy) model thrilled some who wanted more than the standard 40 mpg that most Civics delivered. It was the same basic '82 Civic but the 1.5 liter engine no pumped out 67 hp and offered 41 mpg.

You can still see these old Civics on the road — and usually their drivers are smiling — as well they should given the car's consistent reliability and driving economy. Honda has certainly received a loyal following.
