What’s New for the 2026 Audi A6
Now entering its ninth generation, the internal combustion engined Audi A6 is completely redesigned for the 2026 model year. This latest A6 is quicker, it's quieter, and it has been updated with a modern, sophisticated design inside and out. Drivers benefit from more driver-centric tech, and an optional adaptive air suspension enhances the everyday comfort and luxury. Three trims are available: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige, with a variety of optional packages to bring the A6 from comfortable Autobahn cruiser to sport sedan with the S-line and Sport Plus packages.
Design
This new A6 is quintessential Audi, combining elegance with sportiness. The aerodynamic design starts at the front end with the signature Audi Singleframe grille and sleek headlights and flows down through the rest of the car, forming quattro-inspired blisters over the wheel arches. Combined with the wide track, the A6 has a sporty and aggressive stance, fitting for a German sports sedan.
Four wheel designs are available, ranging from 19 to 21 inches. The 19-inch wheels are standard, while a 20-inch multi-spoke wheel is optional. A unique 20-inch 5-arm-peak wheel is standard with the S-line black optic package. The 21-inch wheels are available only with the Sport Plus package and are fitted with summer tires.
Powertrain
The powertrain is largely a carryover from the previous generation A6. The familiar 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 has been improved, producing 27 more horsepower and 37 more pound-feet of torque than the previous generation, for a total of 362 hp and 406 lb-ft. Paired to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, the 2026 A6 can sprint to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 130 mph. Optioning the Sport Plus package adds a sport differential to the rear axle, enhancing agility and turn-in performance.
In addition to more power and performance, Audi has focused on improving the refinement of this powertrain, reducing the noise, vibration, and harshness levels through specific tuning and updated engine and transmission mounts.

Interior
Inside, the modern redesign continues with a focus on creating a first-class experience for drivers and passengers alike. Front-seat passengers benefit from 2 inches of additional headroom thanks to the panoramic glass roof with six switchable segments. Sound insulation has been dramatically improved compared to the previous generation due to extensive use of acoustic glazing and other sophisticated “aeroacoustic” treatments.
Three leather interiors are available: Black, Nutmeg Brown, and Pearl Beige. Sport seats come standard with the Sport Plus package. The top-of-the-line A6 Prestige gets access to Nappa leather upholstery, in Black or in Baikal Blue and Neodymium Gold. Cargo space is a respectable 13.5 cubic feet with the second row in place, accessed by a standard power-operated trunk. All models come standard with split-folding rear seats, enabling variable loading for large items.
Technology
Audi’s “Digital Stage” is front and center for front seat occupants. Built around Audi’s MMI curved display, the 11.9-inch virtual cockpit blends seamlessly with a 14.5-inch MMI touchscreen display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility. A 10.9-inch display is standard on the Prestige trim for front seat passengers, allowing them to safely look up websites, stream videos, and help with navigation. A dynamic privacy mode prevents distracting content from being viewed from the driver’s seat.
The Premium Plus and Prestige trims get a standard Bang & Olufsen sound system. The Premium Plus makes do with 16 speakers, while the Prestige adds 3D Sound Technology for a grand total of 20 speakers, including two in each headrest. The range-topping Prestige Bang & Olufsen sounds system is rated at an impressive 810 watts.
Safety
All 2026 Audi A6s come standard with a suite of modern driver-assistance systems, enhancing convenience and safety on every journey. Features include adaptive cruise control, active front-assist, side-assist, rear cross-traffic assist and lane-departure warning. Park assist plus, adaptive cruise assist, and a top view camera system are optional on the Premium and standard on the upper trim levels.
