2025 Audi S6 Pricing, Specs, and Release Date

by Chris Teague

The S6 builds on Audi’s mid-range A6 sedan with powerful engines, upgraded handling and suspension, and sharper styling. It’s a long-running model in Audi’s catalog, having been on sale for over 20 years in North America, but it remains one of the more compelling performance luxury cars around.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi S6

The S6 only got a couple of updates for 2025. Audi shuffled standard features, including adding Homelink buttons in the rearview mirror. The Convenience Package for Premium trims now bundles LED interior lighting, and top trims add massaging and other luxury interior features.

Design

To the untrained eye, the S6 doesn’t look dramatically different from the A6 it’s based on. It sports a large grille and aggressive air intake vents in the lower front bumper. The only giveaways that the car is different from its “normal” counterpart are the “S” badges in the grille, front fenders, and trunk lid.

Powertrain

The 2025 S6 gets the same twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 seen in the S7. It makes 444 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and sends it to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. While there’s a bit of a wait while the turbo spools up, the car delivers a brisk 4.4-second zero-60-mph time and a limited top speed of 130 mph. The S6 is a large car, so it’s not as nimble as dedicated sports cars, but the tradeoff is a surprisingly smooth ride quality and quiet interior in most situations.

Interior

The S6 offers seating for five people in a high-quality, spacious cabin. Leather upholstery comes standard, along with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Ventilated, massaging front seats are available. Though it shares much of its underlying structure with the S7, the S6 lacks its counterpart’s sloping roof, which affords more back-seat headroom. Cargo space, on the other hand, is short compared to most rivals, at just 13.7 cubic feet in the trunk. On the upside, the trunk lid is powered by default, and the car’s low ride height makes it easy to load and unload gear.

Technology

Audi equips a dual-touchscreen infotainment system, which uses a 10.1-inch upper display and an 8.6-inch lower screen. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is also standard. The system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, navigation, voice commands, a Bang and Olufsen stereo, multiple USB inputs, and more.

Safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) hasn’t crash-tested the S6 yet, but it gets a good number of standard and available driver-assistance features. They include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, and parking sensors. Available tech includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a night-vision assist system, a surround-view camera, and adaptive cruise control.
