The 2024 Audi A6 is an athletic and sophisticated midsize luxury sedan. It’s just as at-home carving up back roads as it is effortlessly putting away the highway miles.
What’s New for the 2024 Audi A6
Changes are subtle for the Audi A6 in 2024, and include a slightly updated grille design, as well as new color options.
Design
That new, muscular grille is framed up by menacing headlights and mechanical-looking lower front vents. Trims for the A6 are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The Premium comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and full LED headlights. Moving up to the Premium Plus adds Audi’s innovative Matrix LED headlights. The A6 is available with a Black Optics Package that adds gloss-black exterior elements, 20-inch wheels, and a sport suspension.
Powertrain
The A6 “45” designation models come equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The A6 55 features a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that puts out 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Both engines route power through a seven-speed automatic transmission to Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The 45 will go from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, and the 55 will do the same sprint in 5.1 seconds. Both versions have a top speed of 130 mph.
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the A6 45 are 23 mpg city, 33 highway, and 26 combined. The V6-powered A6 55 returns 22 mpg city, 30 highway, and 25 combined. The Audi A6 requires premium fuel.
Interior
Standard features on the 2024 A6 Premium Plus include leather upholstery, heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and remote keyless entry. Stepping up to the Premium Plus adds features such as wireless device charging and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. The range-topping Prestige boasts soft-closing doors, quad-zone automatic climate control, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats.
The A6 provides 13.7 cubic feet of trunk space, which runs about average for a midsize luxury sedan. A power trunk lid comes on the Premium Plus and Prestige trims.
Technology
The A6 features a dual-touchscreen setup in the center console. The lower 8.6-inch lower touchscreen operates the climate control and a number of vehicle functions. The upper 10.1-inch touchscreen is home to entertainment functions, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes standard with navigation, a fully digital instrument panel, and satellite radio.
Safety
The Audi A6 comes with a host of driver-assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. The Premium Plus trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera system, and adaptive cruise control.
Pricing
At the time of this writing, the 2024 Audi A6 has a base MSRP of $57,300 for the 45 Premium. The 55 Premium starts at $61,800. The 45 Premium Plus starts at $60,800, and the 55 Premium Plus starts at $65,300. The range-topping 55 Prestige starts at $70,900. The Audi A6 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.
