The A6 has long held the middle spot in Audi’s luxury sedan lineup, bridging the gap between the sporty A4 and the ultra-premium A8. The automaker’s catalog has grown to include the A3 and A5 over the years, but the A6 remains a compelling midsize luxury sedan with great tech and plenty of power.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi A6
Audi includes more standard equipment and shuffled the available options packages for the 2025 model year. The A6 now comes standard with traffic-sign recognition, and the Convenience Plus Package now includes Black Optic exterior styling, 20-inch wheels, and an LED exterior lighting package. The Premium Plus trim also gained dual-pane acoustic glass, four-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and more.
Design
The A6’s styling hasn’t drastically changed in recent years, but it’s a modern-looking sedan without much fanfare. Audi offers a range of wheel sizes and designs, depending on the trim and options package, and the Black Optics package brings a darker exterior look with blacked-out trim.
Powertrain
Audi offers two powertrain choices for the 2025 A6. The base configuration includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 is available, making 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Interior
The five-seat A6 comes standard with leather upholstery, heated front seats, and power front-seat adjustments. Ventilated and massaging front seats are available, along with heated rear seats and premium leather upholstery. Front passengers enjoy wonderfully comfortable seats with good support and padding. The rear seats are slightly less accommodating but are fine for adults, even on long trips. Cargo space is about average, at 13.7 cubic feet of space, but the rear seats fold, and Audi offers a power trunk lid to make loading and unloading gear much easier.
Technology
Audi gave the 2025 A6 a dual-screen infotainment system with an 8.6-inch lower touch display and a 10.1-inch upper screen. The car also gets a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with Audi’s excellent Virtual Cockpit system, which displays maps, entertainment and radio data, performance metrics, and more. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with navigation, tri-zone climate control, and SiriusXM radio.
Safety
The 2025 A6 missed out on a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but it earned the organization’s highest “Good” rating in several categories, including side and moderate-overlap front crash tests. Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warnings, pedestrian detection, traffic-sign recognition, and more. A night vision assist system, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and a surround-view camera system are available.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Audi A6 starts at $59,395, which includes a $1,295 destination charge. The midrange Premium Plus trim starts at $64,095, and the top Prestige costs $76,645. Stepping up to the V6 engine pushes the starting price to $63,895.
