The CarGurus verdict
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is VW’s best-selling model, and for good reason.
You may have noticed that crossover SUVs are popular. Among them, compact models dominate, having essentially replaced the traditional midsize sedan in American driveways. Offering room for five people, available all-wheel drive (AWD), and more cargo than any family car, they are the preferred method of transportation for a broad cross section of new vehicle buyers. But that’s not the only explanation for the runaway success of the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan.

What owners say
"Overall, drivers appreciate the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan for its comfort, safety features, and practicality as a family SUV. Many liked the vehicle's good fuel economy and spacious interior, making it a solid choice for families. However, some drivers expressed concerns about the performance, describing it as sluggish at times, and mentioned frustrations related to having only one key fob, leading to security worries and added costs for a replacement."
We bought this vehicle for our daughter. It is loaded inside and out. She and I did our research on the VW Tiguan. It is technically on par with every high in car on the market. The panoramic sunroof was a must have for her. Our daughter took the test herself. The ease of handling, acceleration and braking were excellent. Before we returned to the dealership we knew this was the right vehicle for her!
July 7, 2022Solid SUV - big enough for family, small enough to get decent gas mileage for an AWD. Base model comes with enough features to leave the competition out of the game for similar SUVs.
September 17, 2021Despite the what I read about the sluggishness of this model, its STILL a VW (a little speed demon once it gets going). I love all the features of my car (Panoramic sunroof, car play, LCD odometer area, heated seats). I believe I got GREAT VALUE out of this car! No complaints!!!!

September 18, 2023Like the quality, fit and finish. Like the style. Powered just adequately. Dont need 3rd seat. Would like rear compartment to have flat floor.
November 22, 2021Very comfortable car to drive and also as a passenger. Lots of safety features.
May 13, 2022Has the features I need, although operators manual is too generic. you have to first, understand the book does not separate the options by trim, model, etc., so you need to read & do hands-on at the same time. Since the car is used, came with only ONE keyless fob which causes a great inconvenience and is costly to obtain one, $250-300, which the dealer is not responsive to help. Had I known this before signing the paperwork and paying, I would have gone to another dealer. My opinion? once they get your money, youre on your own!!!!!
