The Toyota Camry Hybrid is a midsize sedan, much like the Honda Accord Hybrid and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. For 2021, it benefits from a facelift and a new trim option.
Toyota offers the Camry Hybrid in four grades—LE, SE, XLE, and a new-for-2021 XSE grade. The LE and XLE’s comfort-oriented look sports a new front fascia, as does the sportier look for the SE and XSE trims. Inside, Toyota adopted a floating infotainment screen layout, in order to move that information to eye level.
Meanwhile, the powertrain remains unchanged. It consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) for 208 system horsepower. There are also Normal, Eco, Sport, and EV driving system modes. Fuel economy is a stellar 51 mpg city, 53 mpg highway, and 52 mpg combined.
The base LE trim comes with17-inch wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, satellite radio, Bluetooth, six speakers, bi-LED headlights, keyless access and start, and dual-zone automatic climate control. From there, 18- and 19-inch wheels, a new 9-inch infotainment system, sport suspension, leatherette or leather upholstery, Qi smartphone charging, an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated and cooled front seats, and JBL Audio are all available as you ascend the trim ladder.
All 2021 Camry Hybrid models come with the new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system, bundling forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road sign assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are optional on the LE and SE trim levels, and standard on the XLE and XSE. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tested the non-hybrid Camry in 2021, awarding it “Top Safety Pick+” honors.

While I had to shop for a car suddenly and under duress following mechanical problems with my previous car that could be fixed, I am totally satisfied with the 2022 Camry Hybrid. I researched hybrids, and the Camry has earned top marks. The driving experience is even better than I expected. I had a Prius in the past, but the Camry Hybrid has totally won me over. Sep 02, 2022

I purchased this vehicle after my 2021 Rav 4 hybrid XSE was unfortunately written off in an accident. So far I like it. I Much lower to the ground than what I was used to but much is similar features to previous vehicle. Very comfortable to drive. Jul 07, 2022

Weve only had the car for a couple of days but its been a great couple days. I specifically was looking for the Driver Assist option with the birds eye view and we found a stunning Galactic Aqua Mica XLE with that and the Nav package and it is everything its cracked up to be. Its got radar and sonar and bells and whistles galore! Once I get past the learning curve of all the features there is no doubt I am going to have a safer ride. The dual-colored interior is macadamia and a dark grey/chocolate. Gorgeous. The hybrid Camry model is not new to me since we had a 2013 that we traded for this 21. The hybrid engine with regenerative energy mechanics has been flawless for 8 years to say nothing of saving on brake wear and mpg. I would have loved a high-end luxury car (who wouldnt) but driving this car feels quite upscale. The extras I would have appreciated are minimal, e.g. a lumbar seat feature for the passenger, increased height and memory function for the driver seat but overall this car is just about perfect.Mar 22, 2021

On the instrument panel, the word "Tank" suddenly appeared. This is a 2021 Camry Hybrid. I opened and reclosed the gas cap; no change. I haven't found reference to a "Tank" message in the manual. Got any ideas what this is about?
