The Prius Prime is the most efficient plug-in hybrid on sale, period. Toyota's 20-plus years of hybrid expertise make its closest competitors look like college interns. The Hyundai Ioniq, Honda Clarity, and Chevrolet Volt may edge the Prius Prime on electric range, but on price, features, reliability, and all-out economy, you cannot beat this household name.

What owners say
"Overall, owners appreciate the 2020 Toyota Prius Prime for its efficient performance and impressive hybrid technology. Many drivers like its good fuel economy and useful features like adaptive cruise control. However, some reviewers find the infotainment system challenging to use and mention limited cargo space as a significant downside."
Really impressive. Operating screen is clear and easy to use. Toyota’s got the best hybrid, good value for what your getting.
March 21, 2020Surprising... both good and bad. Starting off this car has a ton of features like a heads up display, JBL sound, and a giant touch screen. On the surface all this is pretty cool, but in practice the infotainment system is really awkward and difficult to use. It makes poor use of the space. Generally this Prius has less storage space than our Previous generation of Prius. The good surprises came from unexpected places. The speed and acceleration were much improved. It feels quick and it has a much more quiet ride. They did a good job on insulation . Overall it feels like a good car but quirky.
August 9, 2021Ride is excellent, it drives very well. all the features work perfectly. I especially like the cruise control that matches speed of cars in front of you.

March 3, 2020Great car for the value great gas mileage for short drives or long. Would not consider any other plug in.
October 28, 2020The prime years of the Prius have no cargo space because of the size of the larger battery. The seats in the back will not work for people taller then 6 feet. Car is too small for the large price tag.
July 12, 2024Toyotas overall are the most reliable cars made. The Prius Prime is overly complex and has a steep learning curve even for simple function operation. The hybrid system is flawless.
