The CarGurus verdict
The 2020 Nissan Maxima has many of the things budget-conscious full-size sedan buyers want. It’s spacious, engaging, and comfortable without overpowering the senses.
Despite finding itself inside a rapidly shrinking segment, the Nissan Maxima shines through with its plush accommodations, potent powertrain, luxe interior, and spacious trunk. The Maxima has continued to be upgraded since its current generation debuted, making it worthy of a long look if you’re in the market for an SUV alternative. Nissan refreshed the Maxima for the 2019 model year, so changes for 2020 are minimal.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2020 Nissan Maxima have mixed feelings. Many appreciated its stylish design, powerful performance, and technology features, while others were disappointed by the CVT transmission and the price. The Maxima is seen as fun to drive but not without its limitations."
Many great features and comfortable ride. Catches great speed very fast. You get that sports car vibe from it. Overall love the car, no complaints.
October 2, 2022This car is absolutely amazing, it’s has every possible feature I could ask for, it drives smooth and has pretty good mpg, I love the remote start and heated leather seats and it’s spaciousness.
August 8, 2022never seen it in person but dont like that color at all. I have a 2016 SL model and best car i have ever owned and over 60 yrs Ive had quite a few-this is by far best car for the money there is-hands down, you cant beat a maxima!

October 18, 2022purchased a 2020 Nissan maxima platinum. Over all the car is really amazing from the technology to the overall design it’s definitely something that’s worth it to purchase. Now if your looking into the maxima for speed and power keep in mind that number one it has a cvt transmission that’s helping the 300hp engine function all on its fwd system so, in other words it gets up to speed rather fast but it’s not a gtr. Over all I love this vehicle .
May 9, 2023Great vehicle all around well equipped and priced right for the performance and quality.
February 6, 2021The Maxima is one of my favorite cars, it has lots of power and its very stylish. This particular one is has heated seats and steering wheel, I like that it has dual Sun roof. My only issue is that front sunroof doesnt have a cover up so to not let in any sun when too hot.
September 15, 2024So far I love everything about my new car. Solid mpg city and highway, great get up, handles, and an all around fun ride.
March 15, 2021The Maxima is not a fun car to own. The CVT brings this car down below potential. Should have the same engine and tranny as the comparable Infiniti Q50.
November 26, 2020Good value, nothing missing, great trim and overall ride
May 18, 2024Definitely a standout in style, performance and gas mileafe! A really great road car that gets 35+ mpg on the highway!
