I love the car....great all around daily driver!! I’ve had it 4 days and no issues...I’m getting the hang of how the information system works and features. I decided to to keep XM satellite.....I love how quiet and stable it is. Mine has almost 200k..but it feels brand new

Great car if you are not quite ready for a real electric vehicle. I compare it to a Tesla Model 3. and the Tesla wins, but it does cost more.

A Different Kind Of Car. — Not for sale. Good looking car. Good build quality. It's a little tight for me since I'm 6'3". Gas mileage is excellent since it mostly runs on electric. Fun to drive. In Sport Mode, it has surprisingly good pickup but then you run through the battery pack quicker.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very aerodynamic.  A lot less expensive to operate than gas only vehicles.

Cons: Tight fit for someone my size.   Vision out rear and sides is compromised.

Great Car! Cool Looking And Fun To Drive! — Love the fact that I don't use gas. Fill up a couple gallons every couple months. Energy bill increase about $35 per month. I drive roughly 40-50 miles a day. Charge only gets about 35 miles in the winter (with heater running). Wish it had just a bit more cargo room in the back but haven't run into anything I couldn't put in there with at least a seat folded down.

It's For Real — I was pretty skeptical about how "real" an electric car would be. Is it just a glorified golf cart? No, this one is definitely a real solid car with some extraordinary engineering behind it. As a guy who designs spacecraft for a living, I am impressed with the Volt. You really don't need to know that you are driving an electric. It can be driven exactly like a regular gasoline car. However, I prefer to drive in "L" gear, where it maximizes the regenerative braking, so then you do feel a little difference. The "Sport" driving mode is quite fast. You'll experience the odd sensation of continuous, uninterrupted acceleration without the familiar jolt of gear changes. And then you look down and you are at 60 mph in no time. It's a geeky wolf in sheep's clothing. We have only had it about 3 months, but so far it has done well in the 2-3 inches of snow we have seen a couple of times. We've owned some really good cars over the years, but this might be my favorite so far.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Value - a really solid electric car at half the price of a Tesla.
Range - Over 350 miles with a full charge and a full gas tank
Seamless transitions between electric and gasoline
Oh yeah, it is just really cool..

Cons: Low front ground clearance (flexible air dam helps this)
It always defaults to the slowest charging mode (8Amp) when you park.   We have to remember to set the mode frequently.
Quality of the sound system is a little basic, and the user interface is a little non-intuitive.

Drive by electric for about 55-60 miles. Gas motor starts and takes over after that. The car runs quietly and very little noise on Electric; gas motor turns on to re-charge the battery (The car never is driven by the gas motor, only by the electric motor). Even on gas motor running the car is still very economical to operate. And, of course, on electric drive it is very very economical to operate. The styling and advanced features make this an excellent car to own.Good overall size in which it has a usable back seat and good cargo space.

This car was way ahead of its time. As a plug-in hybrid, it had tech features that outperform many of the tech features I have in later-model year vehicles, including the second generation of the Volt. For instance, I never had a problem with the voice commands on the 2013 Volt (which unfortunately met its end in a car crash) whereas the contemporary Ford Fusion struggles with understanding me. With the insurance money from the crash, I bought a 2017 Volt which has also never responded correctly to voice commands and has an entirely different interface as well. Why cant Chevy bring back the old software?

Handling Ranked 2014 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium worse.
"The smaller Volt was more nimble, had more electric range, and even had more cargo space than the Fusion. Aside from seating only 4 people (which is just the perfect size for my family of 3), it outmatched the Ford Fusion in every way."
Handling Ranked 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX SE Hatchback better.
"The turning radius on this car was impressive. Also, the car had sufficient power."
Looks/Style Ranked 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX SE Hatchback worse.
"Despite the fact that the pop-off hood of the Nissan Pulsar was an amazing feature, the interior of the Volt, and the electronic arrangements (including voice commands, with which I never had any problem!) was way ahead of its time. The entire car looked futuristic, and performed as such."
Family Car Ranked 2014 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium worse.
"More trunk space, and a much better infotainment / voice-activated control system. The Ford Fusion Energi still gives me problems on occasion, whereas the old Chevy Volt never did."

No maintenance, solid feel, up to 1000 M.P.G. Not like any other electric car it can keep on going with the back up generator. Very comfortable. Extra safe W/ 10 air bags. Love it !!!
