The xterra is not too big or too small, it has a roof rack and is a proven dependable vehicle. One problem with this xterra and the frontier and the maximas is the timing chain has to be replaced at around 90,000 miles and again at 180,000 miles. Its a major job which costs around $1200 to $1500. Also the disc brakes should be replaced and wheel bearings repacked or replaced around that time. That is major expense to keep this vehicle on the road. If you dont do these things the tension er either freezes up or the chain guides which are plastic, wear through, the chain skips and your motor is fried, thats a $4,500 repair bill! So if you buy a used one, get ready to spend money on it!

All I’ve ever driven are big SUV’s like suburban or Navigator L. So the Xterra gave me my first taste of a crossover. I love the pep and tight handling. It’s like driving a super quick go-cart. It’s surprisingly roomy inside as well and I’m good with basic features. What I’m missing is arm rests, my right arm is lost while driving; the console sets too far back and there are none on the seats. The only “new” feature I miss is automatic headlights; it’s been so long since I’ve had to remember to turn off my headlights I’m a little nervous that a dead battery may be in my future...hopefully not. Storage is nice, good jack, and full size spare. It is kind of funny how you drive this thing for about 15 minutes and then you feel the urge to go off road. It’s really fun!

I rated it 4 stars, simply because of cosmetic scratches in this specific vehicle. It seems to be a great value so far.Sportyy vehicle that catches the eye with an athletic look. Id put it as a cross between a Jeep Wrangler, and a forerunner. It is an off road suv

This one replaced my Xterra that was totaled. I love this car. May not be for everyone but I wouldn’t have any other car. The features are great. The car was a great value particularly with the low mileage. Great deal!

This particular one has had 5 owners, 2 accidents and is a bit high on mileage. It might be worth 7,000 if it has an upgraded radiator, is rust free, and fresh brakes and tires. But no more! Read More
