New for 2012, the Chevrolet Sonic LS subcompact sedan runs with the class leaders when it comes to exterior styling, performance, handling and interior roominess. Outside, the Sonic LS displays a fresh, aggressive appearance with a dual-element grille, motorcycle-inspired auto on/off headlights, a sculpted hood, prominent fender flares, round taillights and 15-inch wheels. Inside, the Sonic LS's roomy cabin gets such standard features as sport cloth upholstery, air conditioning with an outside temperature display, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and a 4-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input jack. The Sonic LS sedan also receives standard OnStar for 6 months, which includes the Directions and Connections plan with turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics.

Power for the front-wheel-drive Sonic LS sedan comes from a 1.8-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine with variable valve timing. Borrowed from the larger Chevy Cruze, the engine produces 138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. It links to a 5-speed manual transmission and posts fuel economy numbers of 26/35 mpg. The Sonic LS comes equipped with a total of 10 airbags, including knee airbags for the driver and passenger, seat-mounted thorax side-impact airbags and roof-rail head curtain airbags for both rows of seating. Other standard safety features include the StabiliTrak stability control system and traction control, as well as 4-wheel antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Daytime running lights and a hill hold feature also come standard, while the OnStar system includes such safety features as automatic crash response, crisis assist, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle assistance.

The Chevrolet Sonic LS Hatchback, which makes its debut for 2012, combines solid performance and agile handling with a roomy cabin and fresh, aggressive exterior styling. The hatchback displays a slightly more aggressive look than the sedan, thanks to a standard integrated rear spoiler. It also offers a few additional inches of rear-seat headroom, due to its boxlike design from the front pillars to the rear bumper. Exterior features for the Sonic LS Hatchback include a dual-element grille, auto on/off halogen headlights, prominent fender flares, round taillights and 15-inch wheels. Inside, the hatchback comes equipped with such standard features as sport cloth upholstery, air conditioning with an outside temperature display, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and a 4-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input jack. GM's OnStar system with the Directions and Connections plan, including turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics, also comes standard. The hatchback's rear seatback splits 60/40 and folds flat, providing up to 47.7 cubic feet of cargo space.

A step up from the entry-level Sonic LS trim, the Chevrolet Sonic LT sedan, which debuts for 2012, includes a number of standard features not found on the base trim. The LT receives upgraded deluxe cloth upholstery, power windows and an upgraded 6-speaker audio system with a CD player and SiriusXM satellite radio. Other standard features for the Sonic LT include air conditioning with an outside temperature display, remote keyless entry and a tilt/telescopic steering wheel. In addition, the LT receives standard OnStar for 6 months, which includes the Directions and Connections plan with turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics.

Outside, the LT gets foglights and heated power-adjustable exterior mirrors, which distinguish it from the base LS. A dual-element grille, auto on/off headlights, a sculpted hood, prominent fender flares, round taillights and 15-inch wheels are among the other exterior features. In addition, owners can add optional 16-inch aluminum wheels. Power for the front-wheel-drive Sonic LT comes from a 1.8-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, which links to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine generates 138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque, and posts fuel economy numbers of 26 mpg city/35 highway. Safety features include 10 airbags, as well as the StabiliTrak stability control system, traction control and 4-wheel antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Daytime running lights and a hill hold feature also come standard. Well-equipped for 2012, the new Chevrolet Sonic 2LT subcompact sedan delivers a fast, spirited ride, thanks to its turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, borrowed from the Chevy Cruze. The turbo engine delivers 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque over a wide rpm range, resulting in peppy acceleration. Buyers can pair the turbo with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. The turbo engine posts good fuel-economy numbers, which check in at 29 mpg city/40 highway with the manual shifter and 27/37 with the automatic. In addition to 10 standard airbags, including knee airbags for both the driver and passenger, safety features for the Sonic 2LT sedan include the StabiliTrak stability control system, traction control and 4-wheel antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Daytime running lights and a hill hold feature also come standard. In addition, Chevy includes its OnStar system, which offers automatic crash response, crisis assist, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle assistance, as well as vehicle diagnostics and turn-by-turn navigation.

Outside, the Sonic 2LT sedan displays contemporary exterior styling, with front foglights and heated power-adjustable side mirrors, in addition to a dual-element grille, auto on/off headlights, prominent fender flares, round taillights and 15-inch wheels. Owners can opt for available 16-inch aluminum wheels. The Chevrolet Sonic LTZ sedan debuts for 2012 with a youthful, aggressive exterior design, a roomy cabin, peppy performance and a strong list of standard features. As befitting its status as the top-level Sonic, the LTZ gets such luxury-oriented features as perforated leatherette seating surfaces, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 6-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, a USB port and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. Owners can add an optional power sunroof to the LTZ. Other standard interior features for the LTZ include air conditioning with an outside temperature display, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, power windows and cruise control. In addition, Chevy includes its OnStar system with the Directions and Connections plan, turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics.

Outside, the LTZ sedan comes equipped with a dual-element grille, auto on/off headlights, front foglights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors and round taillights. The sedan rides on 17-inch aluminum wheels, which come standard, although owners can add a number of available upgraded 17-inch wheels. With spirited performance, a smooth ride and a roomy cabin, the Chevrolet Sonic 2LT Hatchback has plenty to offer as it makes its debut for 2012. For starters, it comes equipped with a peppy 1.4-liter turbocharged Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, which produces 138 hp and 148 lb-ft over a wide rpm range. Borrowed from the Chevy Cruze, the turbocharged powerplant pairs with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic, and posts good fuel economy numbers of 29 mpg city/40 highway with the manual shifter and 27/37 with the automatic transmission. Safety features include the StabiliTrak stability control system and traction control, as well as 10 standard airbags. Daytime running lights, a hill hold feature and 4-wheel antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution also come standard. In addition, Chevy includes its OnStar system, which offers such features as automatic crash response, crisis assist, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle assistance, as well as vehicle diagnostics and turn-by-turn navigation.

The 2LT Hatchback offers more rear-seat headroom than the Sonic sedan, thanks to its boxlike design from the front pillars to the rear bumper. The hatchback also displays a more aggressive look, thanks to its integrated rear spoiler. Inside the roomy cabin, such features as deluxe cloth upholstery, power windows, remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel and air conditioning with an outside temperature display come standard. The 6-speaker audio system includes a CD player, SiriusXM satellite radio and an auxiliary input jack. A 60/40-split flat-folding rear seatback expands cargo space up to 47.7 cubic feet. Outside, the 2LT Hatchback displays such features as a dual-element grille, auto on/off headlights, front foglights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, pronounced fender flares and round taillights. The 2LT Hatchback rides on 15-inch wheels, although owners can opt for available 16-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside the cabin, such upscale features as leatherette seating surfaces, heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel come standard. In addition, the LTZ Hatchback's 6-speaker audio system includes Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, a USB port and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. Remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, power windows, cruise control and air conditioning with an outside temperature display are among the other standard features. Owners can also add an available power sunroof. In addition, Chevy includes its OnStar system with the Directions and Connections plan, turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics. Outside, the LTZ Hatchback displays such exterior features as a dual-element grille, auto on/off headlights, front foglights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors and round taillights. As the best-equipped hatchback in the Sonic lineup, the Chevrolet Sonic 2LTZ Hatchback subcompact vehicle, which debuts for 2012, combines spirited performance and a smooth ride with a roomy cabin and plenty of cargo space. The hatchback offers slightly more rear-seat headroom than the Sonic sedan, thanks to its boxlike rear-end design. Inside, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel ensure an upscale feel, while the 6-speaker audio system includes Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, a USB port and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. Remote keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, power windows, cruise control and air conditioning with an outside temperature display are among the other standard features. In addition, owners can add an available power sunroof. The automaker also includes its OnStar system with the Directions and Connections plan, turn-by-turn navigation and vehicle diagnostics.

Outside, the 2LTZ Hatchback displays such exterior features as a dual-element grille, auto on/off headlights, front foglights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, round taillights and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Chevy also offers a number of available upgraded 17-inch wheels. Under the hood, the automaker drops a 1.4-liter turbocharged Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, which generates 138 hp and 148 lb-ft over a wide rpm range. The engine links to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. Fuel economy numbers check in at 29/40 mpg with the manual shifter and 27/37 with the automatic. Safety features on the 2LTZ Hatchback include the StabiliTrak stability control system and traction control, as well as 10 standard airbags. Daytime running lights, a hill hold feature and 4-wheel antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution also come standard. In addition, the OnStar system includes such safety features as automatic crash response, crisis assist, roadside assistance and stolen vehicle assistance.
