Great Car And A Great Value! — I ended up choosing this car over the competition because the features really lined up with what I wanted in a car of this class. Lumbar support in the seats, great electronics package, tight handling and good acceleration, and decent styling. The style was a bit dated compared to the new RAV4, but still out-classed the Murano and GM lines in my opinion. Mazda CX-7 was a serious contender, until I saw the safety ratings.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Almost too much power in the V6. I bet the 4 cylinder would have been enough for me, but even so, the V6 got great mileage. Maybe it was just my dealership (Alexandria, VA), but the service department was probably the most courteous and competent (and honest), I have ever experienced. If they are all like this, I'd buy another Ford product for just that reason alone!

Cons: Shifting was not smooth and unpredictable. Definitely had issues with unsolicited acceleration (I understand that Ford will be recalling and fixing this issue in July 2014). I am amazed at how well such a small vehicle did in heavy snow (I had the AWD). Transmission needed to be rebuilt (under warranty) after only 22K miles.
