Gl-450: Country Club Cruiser — My wife drives this one. She loves it. We bought it used at a good price, which is probably the best way to acquire a Mercedes, which are sort of pricey. She like her 2009 GL450 so much that we traded it for a 2011 GL450 to kick the mileage back down from 80K to 25K. Great vehicle.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: Solid, reliable, luxurious.

    Cons: High price, gas guzzler.

Love It, — We really love the car. Maintenance is expensive - if you use the dealer. Parts can be also - but eBay. amazon and other sites have mitigated that. Runs about 17 miles to the gallon on average with about a 320 mile cruise range and when you burn premium - as this must - that is important. Drove it for 250 miles during snow/ice to get family to safe ground. Used the paddle shifters and had no problems maintaining control while others around us slipped and slid all over the place. Will probably get another one around 2025....'cause at this price it has to last a while!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great and reliable family SUV for long trips. Should last for many years.

Cons: MB Service costs at the dealer. Do my own.

All You Expect From A Mercedes — This isn't your mom's family car. Mercedes puts plenty of sporty handling and power in this SUV. Plenty of leg room in the front two rows third row is a little tight for adults. Very stylish and very comfortable to ride or drive.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Handles Great.  Very Sporty for a 7 seater.

    Cons: Fuel Economy

Best Car I've Ever Owned — Mercedes really showed the amount of effort they put into their vehicles with the GL450. The craftsmanship and style is incomparable to that of, say, Audi or BMW. The power is ridiculous and the off-roading is crazy! If you can get onto a highway with little to no traffic and put the pedal to the metal, you will be appalled (in a good way!) by the utter power and force of the car! You get thrown into your seat, but that only lasts a second, then you just fly! You feel like your driving a supercar, but then you realize that you are in one of seven smartly made, stylish, and comfortable seats, all perfectly cocooned in a beautiful and spacious luxury sports utility vehicle, and a Mercedes-Benz nonetheless!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Both the exterior and interior of my GL450 are truly superb. The handling is immaculate, the space is great for big loads like luggage/ mulch/etc..., and the space is incredible!

Cons: The GL450's size is is on the larger end compared to other SUV's, it is quite a heavy vehicle, and the passenger seat could have more leg room, but great for people under 5'5".

Disappointed — The navigation isn't a touch screen and it is so inconvenience. The DVD, phone bluetooth and backup camera will not work unless you turn the radio on. I was completely shock to see how much Mercedes invest into hiring such engineer to do the job.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: It's a Benz

Cons: the technology isn't convenience.  The worse designed car ever

Outstanding For Performance And Practicality. — This is basically an S class SUV - and worth every penny. It can carry bikes and all kinds of stuff as well as the kids - and can go for more than 700 miles with a tank of fuel. Handling is superb. We are very very pleased with this purchase.

Pros: Extremely good vehicle.  Handling is superb.  Extremely comfortable.

    Cons: Expensive
