2011 Mazda MX-5 MiataReview
Guru9N8HPJ writes:
I’ve only had my 2011 Miata for 5 days, but I am very pleased with it. The acceleration is better and stronger than I was expecting. Steering and handling are exceptional. Engine and exhaust note is satisfying. Entry and exit are challenging, but that’s to be expected in a car that small. Mine happened to come with a lot of extra goodies because it’s a grand touring model so that put some icing on the cake. Finally, it came with a very reasonable price that Car Gurus suggested as a great deal. At this point, I am very pleased with the vehicle, and I very much appreciate all of the excellent information that car gurus provide to help a shopper find the best vehicle at the right price. ![]() Looking for a Used MX-5 Miata in your area?CarGurus has 2,250 nationwide MX-5 Miata listings starting at $4,859. |

Fun To Drive! — Bought this looking for a fun to drive car for the mountains and weekends - delivers on all counts! Super fun to work the manual transmission on mountain and curvy roads - hugs corners unbelievably well. Overall, like driving a fun go cart. No problems with car at all. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Great handling, super cool retractable hardtop, fun to drive Cons: tiny, could be more powerful |

Best Roadster I Have Owned. — I have owned a toyota celica gt, mazda rx7 gxl, mazda rx7 turbo II, Porsche boxster, Porsche Boxster S, Porsche 911 Carrera, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and a Toy Corolla XRS. While a few of these were obviously faster, better handling cars, the MX-5 has been the most practical, affordable and joy to drive. The handling, sound, power and economy of this car are wonderful! Porsche's are awesome cars but very unnecessary in the US due to speed limits. The MX-5 is a blast to drive on country roads at lower speeds while the Porsches needed much higher speeds to feel the same rush... Yes, I am an adrenalin junkie... Recovering that is. I am now 55 years old and guess it doesn't take quite as much to thrill me but the Mazda is just a well sorted ride and a lot of bang for the buck. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Sexy, sleek, tight ride. Great sound, looks, reliability, durability and ride. Awesome power top. Amazing gas mileage. Can't say enough about this car. Wife and I love it! Cons: Only con we have is we must sell it as our grandchild is due in August and wife wants a sedan so newborn can ride in back seat. We hate to see it go but thrilled about grandbaby |

Awesome — This is actually a 2011 Limited model in Dolphin Grey - somewhat rare color but looks really sharp. Hard top works flawlessly and makes the looks. Light grey leather seats pop and feel great. Surprising power from such a small engine and the handling is fantastic. Super value in smlall sports car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: great power, nice amenities, really fun. Cons: not much room, but thats expected, wind noise |

One Of The Best Handling Roadsters On The Planet! — The MX-5 really does handle superbly! It's like the car is in telepathic contact with you! The short throw shifter and brakes are world class. Decent amount of trunk space and nice acceleration due to it's low weight. Love it! Highly recommend getting the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Run-Flat Tires installed on it, if you buy one. This car has NO spare tire/donut and the run flats will give you some peace of mind on the highway! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Excellent handling, reliable, brakes, great power to weight ratio, heated leather seats, high intensity xenon headlights, hardtop is easy and quick to open and close...and stows BEHIND seats, not into the trunk! Looks awesome with top up (can't say that with many convertibles!), GT model has lots of options, like Stability and Traction Control. Surprising decent trunk space for such a small car! Cons: A bit snug, no spare tire/donut in trunk...just a tire inflator kit, awkward to open latch for fuel door, could use a little more HP. Cupholders directly behind shifter makes it impossible to shift without knocking over the coffee or soda...Mazda needs to re-think this one! Wind blocker between seats works ok, but could be improved. |
