A well built, fast and balanced sport sedan. A good mix of handling and comfort. BMWs steering and Inline-6 engines shine particularly bright in this chassis.

Overall BMW 3 Series better handling, more power, and generally felt more solid than its Japanese counterpart.
Handling Ranked 2011 Lexus IS 250 worse.
"The BMW suspension feels tighter and handling more responsive. Lexus has more of a comfortable ride, if thats what youre after. BMW fares much better at high-speed handling."
Back Seats Ranked 2011 Lexus IS 250 worse.
"Generally more comfortable and places for drink holders as well"

This car is a great car to own. I would upgrade the stereo and change the wheels, but otherwise a great buy!
Family Car Ranked 2011 Ford Mustang better.
"Its a more fun car to get out and go with the family, and the backseat space is great for such a sporty car, shorter people fit great!"
Would Buy Ranked 2011 Ford Mustang better.
"I personally like American muscle and this car to me was the epidemy of value and muscle!"

Performance Oriented, Capable Daily Driver — Refined & very capable performance coupe. I have driven 12+ hours without getting fatigued. I have driven at autocross events & on a high speed road course track. The car is very fun to drive & in stock form performs well. The 7 speed DCT transmission with different modes lets me take full control or be lazy & let the car decide which gear to be in - good for traffic or cruising. Harmon Kardon audio system has nice balance & crisp, clear sound. Wind noise is extremely low (quietest car I've every owned). the exhaust system has a lovely growl when the engine is pushed.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Very responsive car....power, transmission, handling all are great for spirited driving.  Surprisingly comfortable ride even though the suspension is firm.

Cons: Wish the car was a little bit lighter for better handling at the extremes.

Fun, Refined Ride, Sleek And Smooth With Responsive Engine — This car is fun to drive! It handles beautifully and even inclement weather is no match for this vehicle with xDrive/AWD. Everyday I discover something new I didn't realize was included when I purchased this vehicle, like the steering wheel warmer and memory seat positioning. The 328i xDrive provides a serenely smooth drive with outstanding safety ratings.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Potent engine
    Outstanding acceleration
    Reliable navigation system
    Sound system
    Sunroof
    Seat and steering wheel warmers
    Fantastic handling
    Comfortable front seats

Cons: Not a family road trip kind of vehicle

An Amazing Machne — Great power, great performance, great handling (hydraulic steering), very good gas mileage given the engine, extraordinarily comfortable, lots of useful bells and whistles and absolutely gorgeous to look at, like a motorized top model. This is one of the best 3-Series vehicles every built by BMW!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Bought it used on a friend's lease return.

Cons: Have yet to find any negatives - except worrying about parking lot rash.

Drive It Like I Stole It! — I love this car. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a sport convertible. BMW's are just fun to drive! They are also reliable, and come standard with a lot of safety features including BMW assist. The twin turbo 6 cylinder packs 300 HP under the hood and is a force to be reckoned with!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Turns Heads, Fast, Convertible, Fun to Drive!

Cons: back seat is hard for an adult to get in an out of.

Ultimate Driving Machine — All around great car. I am now a BMW fan. I think that if we were to get another, it would be a 5 series though. The size is a bit small for me. Also, the cup holder suck wicked bad!!

Pros: It is truly the Ultimate Driving Machine

Cons: A bit small for my liking but it's my wife's car and not mine so it doesn't bother me that much.

Great Ca Car — This is a great looking car with impressive handling, acceleration and ride characteristics. Front seats are way comfortable and back seats are sufficient for two people under 6 feet. Cargo capacity is limited when the top is down but not too bad when the top is up (3 roll-aways).

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: fantastic handling, excellent acceleration, smooth ride, hardtop convertible (quiet)

    Cons: limited cargo space
