This Car Is Great —

UPDATED 05/15 BELOW ORIGINAL REVIEW --- Got one of the first ones in March 2009. Have driven it over 33,000 miles since and couldn't be happier. Ford service (routine) from Colorado to Florida has been great. Fun to drive, SYNC is great, playing my iTunes songs wirelessly via bluetooth is convenient. Nursed town driving gets over 45mpg, normal town driving gets 41, highway at 65mph gets about 37mpg, at 75mph it gets 34 or so. My mixed use is 38.5mpg UPDATE 05/2015: Well, I have owned this 2010 Fusion Hybrid for over 6 years now. This is BY FAR the best car I have ever owned with 140,000 trouble free miles and counting (knock on wood). I've driven from coast to coast to coast in all driving conditions having done only the prescribed 10,000 mile services at Ford dealerships. Updating the Nav software twice has been my only out of pocket expense beyond normal scheduled service and tires every 40K miles. Ford seems to have gotten it together with this one. I plan to keep this car even when I buy any other new vehicle. Reliable doesn't adequately describe Pearl (my Fusion... yeah, it deserved a name). I've never written a review on a car, much less update one six years later.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: mileage, handling, service, bluetooth tunes/phone

Cons: rear seat does not fold down like other models (because of the battery pack under backseat)

Awesome Sedan — The Fusion Hybrid is a great car. It's roomy and comfortable on the inside, rides very smooth and quietly, and has a lot of great features. The options in my car included a sunroof and the SYNC audio system with improved speakers. I really enjoy driving it and while it's not the best fuel economy out there (and the newer Fusion Hybrids have significantly better gas mileage), I do not have to put gas into it very often.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Very comfortable, quiet, reliable, excellent fuel economy and the SYNC system is awesome

Cons: Reduced cargo space due to the battery between the trunk and back seat.

Nice Hybrid — It's bigger and heavier than a Toyota Prius therefore it's mileage is not as good, but for it's size it does fairly good. It's more comfortable in the back seat than a smaller car so that is what I wanted it for since my wife and I have two children.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Can run short distances in electric mode at less then 45mph if not uphill or strong torque need like fast acceleration.

Cons: Can't seem to get the per-tank mpg above 39.

Excellent Value, Well Built, And I Was Thrilled To See Ford Was Competitive — Love the car and the way it drives / Especially Sync . The Hybrid is excellent and the car is so quiet. My only "gripe" is the interior is a bit "cheap" too much plastic on dash and I had the enviro friendly seatcovers replaced with leather. Much more efficient then the Lexus it replaced. I feel very safe in it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Economical

Cons: nothing
