The whole Fusion range got a serious revision for the 2017 model year, but the hybrid model has been around for a bit longer than its competitors. The Fusion manages to be one of the more handsome midsize four-doors on the market, and the hybrid version has subtle features that distinguish it from regular Fusion. The year 2018 doesn’t bring any major changes. Available models include S, SE, Titanium, and Platinum. A separate plug-in model, called the Energi, is also available, which is covered in a separate preview.
Providing the internal combustion part of the equation for the Fusion Hybrid is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine; a two-motor electric hybrid system replaces a traditional transmission. Drivers can expect 141 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque. Power goes to the front wheels only. In the trunk is a lithium-ion battery pack. The 2018 Hybrid model is rated at 43 mpg city, 41 highway, and 42 combined.
Up front, the Fusion Hybrid has well-bolstered seats, with hybrid models swathed in eco-friendly recycled fabric upholstery, with genuine leather also available. Taller rear seat passengers may be a little cramped on headroom, as the sloping roofline that looks good on the outside cuts into some space on the inside. Highway noise is effectively managed with sound deadening, active noise cancellation, and low-rolling resistance tires. While the base model is adequately equipped, stepping up to the SEL model adds 10-way power driver’s seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, voice-activated touchscreen navigation, remote start, SiriuxXM Traffic and Travel Link, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Fusion Hybrid Titanium gets a heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, and a moonroof.
The conventional Fusion has scored well enough to get Top Safety Pick status from the IIHS, and the NHTSA gives it five out of five stars overall. A reversing camera is standard, and for 2017 Ford also added active lane control, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, park assist, and a driver alert system that detects drowsiness at the wheel.

Ford Fusion Hybrid Platinum is an excellent value for the price. It is extremely comfortable, has an excess of features and if you know how to drive it could give you 54mpg easily!
I was looking into Honda Accord Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid and Fusion Titanium won my preference by a long shot.
I would definitely recommend Fusion Hybrid if looking for comfort, efficiency and style.

This car has some zip! I was worried about the power of a hybrid but it really moves. I am coming off an old SUV so I am really looking forward to my fuel savings. I really didnt compare it to anything else after I test drove one. At the moment I am very happy with my purchase. A little worried about the repair costs if something comes up but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.Aug 31, 2020

2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE
My car had about 30,000 miles when I moved from Ohio to Florida. I was getting 41-43 MPG. As soon as I moved, I noticed my MPGs drop 10-11 MPG in 3 months. I am now getting 30-31. I am so frustrated because I already had the car in for service, and they say nothing is wrong and that it's probably my driving. Lol. It's not my driving..that hasn't changed. I'm taking it in again this week in Hope's they will replace the battery pack since it's under warranty. I know I'm probably dreaming, thinking they will do this for me.
