Awesome — This is the best car on the planet for road trippers, adventurers, and mountain living. I love this one even more than my first (2000 H6 3.0 automatic). Can't believe Subaru got rid of the manual transmission. It's way more fun!

Pros: Reliable, fun to drive, great off road and in bad weather, best road trip car on the planet

Cons: CV axles and boots are too easily damaged
Cup holders suck

2009 Subaru Outback 2.5 Xt Limited W/nav —

Purchased a 2009 Subaru Outback 2.5XT in Diamond Grey w/Quartz Silver with slightly off Black Interior. In general this is the perfect vehicle to buy, especially in this trim if you want a sporty SUV alternative. It sits up like a small SUV, handles like sports sedan, accelerates like a small turbo coupe, and brakes like a champion. I'm still in the break in period but I have a feeling once this time passes this car will truly shine. Car rides very smooth and balanced, and when bumps are transferred to the cabin they are controlled. Interior is pretty quiet with windows up and wind is buffeting noticeable with windows down. Engine is powerful in all ranges especially with boost up. Favorite Features For me first is the engine. But I also love the huge sunroof, navigation which isn't bad, leather seats, stereo, fit and finish, sporty dials and red lighting, SI-Drive, and much more. SI Drive really changes personalities more than I thought it would. I also love that the 2.5XT w/NAV is rare. Suggested Improvements I would suggest more passenger space. A little more would be nice. The Navigation could have a higher Resolution Screen and be Hard Drive based, Memory Seats, Homelink and Bluetooth as Standard Features, Autolocking Doors after 15mph, Full Size Spare, and Shift Paddles of the Legacy 3.0R, since the XT is a sport model and above the Outback 3.0R.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: It's a Subaru!!!

Cons: Could have a bit more interior space.

Good To Drive, Good To Keep, All Wheel Drive. — Pefrormance: Nice but has a bit of an issue getting up the mountains! Does it and does it fine, but it sounds like its working its but off! Build Quality: It's a Subaru, it'll run forever Appearance: Standard, its its own identity. Cost: gas about 36$ a tank The car is pretty standard, It'll get you where you want to go and will take the snow and rain and off roading that I'll get into.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: For all weather and road confidence

Cons: Its not a Land Rover

2009 Subaru Outback 2.5i Special Edition — Acceleration is decent. Braking and handling is very good. The appearance is nice, I dislike the two tone inside, black seats and dash tan top. This car is nice to drive. Good gas mileage if you drive it not like its a race car.

Pros: Braking, handling, gas mileage is good.

Cons: Not too much. Its a decent car

Outback — The performance is ok, the 2000 is actually a bit faster. its seems like a pretty sturdy car. hasnt needed any repairs. it looks so good compared to the older models. its much more expensive too but its worth it. its a fun car to drive especially with the features it has.

Pros: Good

Cons: Bad

Handling Ranked 2010 Honda Ridgeline RT worse.
"Lower center of gravity. Joy of driving a manual."
Back Seats Ranked 2010 Honda Ridgeline RT worse.
"Back seats in both were stiff but the Outback offered more on overall comfort. If backseat comfort is important, neither vehicle scores high in my opinion."
