The 2009 Nissan Armada LE 4WD luxury full-size SUV will happily hit off-road trails thanks to high- and low-range gearing. Standard skid plates supplement its 9.8 inches of ground clearance. It features a center locking and limited-slip differential as well as a self-leveling suspension. The 5.6-liter DOHC V8 and 5-speed automatic get 317 hp and 385 ft-lbs of torque at 3,400 RPM. It can tow up to 9,000 pounds with the included trailer hitch, but achieves only 12/17 mpg.
This SUV keeps its three rows of eight passengers safe with standard traction and stability control, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes with electronic brake assist and brakeforce distribution, front and rear stabilizer bars, and dual front-side airbags with passenger deactivation and side curtain airbags for all three rows. The 2009 Armada LE 4WD adds larger 20-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, which come with a tire monitor. A rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors help when backing up, as do the power retractable mirrors. Automatic headlights, foglights, auto-dimming mirrors, and side mirrors with turn signals are also standard.
Running boards provide easy access to the cabin. Both the split-folding second and third row and the front passenger seat fold flat, expanding the 20-cubic-foot cargo area to 97 cubic feet. Second-row passengers can recline and get their own audio and climate controls, and captain's chairs can replace the second-row bench. A power liftgate and separate flip-up window offer access to the cargo area, which comes with tie-downs and a power outlet. A tray and organizer cost extra. A roof rack is included as well.
The 2009 Armada LE 4WD piles on the luxury by adding leather upholstery, 8-way and 6-way power front seats with driver's memory, heated front seats, remote start, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, and a garage opener. Already standard are a 6-CD player with MP3 jack and satellite radio, remote entry, full power features, wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, intermittent front and rear wipers, a trip computer, a temperature gauge, a tachometer, a compass, and Bluetooth. If that's not enough, you can add a sunroof, a DVD player with wireless headphones, and a real-time navigation system with hard drive.
