Life With My '09 Focus 2.0 Duratec — Good looking car with a sporty line and nice handling, sometimes i feel it has a little bit lazy acceleration because its weight (1327 Kg), but stills a well built and reliable car. Very comfortable seats and has space for family and cargo...

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Still looking great after 4 years of being owned.

2009 Ford Focus Hatch — Not a bad car. A bit plain jane but it is 2 litre, not the 1.6 so it goes ok. Understeers too much which can be dangerous in the wet. Has been reliable so far. The tipronic is good but only a 4 speed.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Solid but not awe inspiring.

    Cons: Understeer.

2009 Ford Focus Se — I have been driving my focus for 2 years now. It's a good reliable car to get around town in. It handled nicely and and felt link i was fully in control. The steering was a bit to firm for me though.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: fast and peppy

Cons: Little to low to the ground.

Hot Ride — Appearance: appearance is classy both exterior and interior Performance: Acceleration is good even on the steep heel while driving on gear 5, breaking is not really reliable when you hit a dead break, handling is brilliant especially on water driveway

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It can disappear and fuel is efficient

Cons: not smooth on the bumpy roads

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: With the miles I drive , its a good little car .

Cons: 4 wheel disc brakes would have been nice!

Love My Focus! — I'd recommend this car for anyone who wants something small and relatively inexpensive. It fits my purposes -- and I'm happy with it.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Love my car!  Sporty-looking, surprisingly big interior with lots of front seat leg room for my 6'6" husband and son.  Huge trunk with fold-down back seat makes it easy to fit longer purchases.  Terrific gas milage -- in the low-mid 30's for city driving.  Powerful AC/heater.  Good radio/stereo.  Perfect size to buzz around in...

Cons: Not the greatest car in the winter. Think I'm going to invest in snow tires, as my all-weather radials aren't cutting it. Doesn't have the best power on steep hills at higher speeds.  Back seat is a little cramped for my tall kids.

Overall...this Car, In My Opinion, Is Better Than The Mazda 3 Or The Civic. — Performance is above average. I wish it had a bit more power. Maybe after I install better exhaust, intake, and tweak the CPU a bit I'll definitely see a difference in the power. Also once I lower and stiffen the suspension the overall look of the car will be more aggressive...much like how I drive. Once the performance chip is modified, the gas mileage should get even better. This is really a fun car to drive along with your friends.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The Sync System on this car is what places it above anything else in it's class.

Cons: I wish it had a bit more power and torque and a little lowered suspension, but for what it came with for the price I paid, it was a steal.

Really Chuffed With It And Would Have Another — Great every day car fr using for work, shopping, general use and looks quite pretty in black- decent performance - decent mpg - comfortable - well built - plenty of goodies - just a really good every day car.... would have another tomorrow and probably will....

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: it does everything well for a reasonable everyday car

    Cons: None really

Smart And Safe Purchase — Performance: Acceleration - Average for the compact class. Braking - Good and even without ABS stops straight in panic situations. Handling - Above average, very predictable and stable. Build Quality: Good, no squeaks or rattle. I did have to have the Audio Processor Interface Module replaced but it was done for free under warranty. Appearance: Interior: Laid out reasonably well, materials are average quality. Styling (while subjective) is restrained with very legible and intuitive radio and HVAC controls. Exterior: Best viewed from a rear 3/4s view, the front end styling has been the cause of controversy on the '08+ Foci. Cost of ownership: Very reasonable, the dealer I bought the car from has a tires for life deal so I've only had to do oil changes and tire rotations...and I've already got a new set of tires. As far as gas mileage is concerned the best I've ever got was 35.4mpg(mostly highway driving) with most tanks averaging 30mpg. Fun factor: This car is more fun than people give credit for, with it's IRS (unlike some direct competitors that still use torsion beams) it's very tossable and stable, brakes are good and acceleration in most situations is more than acceptable.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Fun and fuel efficient

Cons: If you need a lot of room

A Great Car For The First-time Buyer Or Cost-mindful. Should Not Be Considered For Safety! — This car has very poor performance in the areas of acceleration and power, but makes up for it in the handling of the car. Its stock Kumho's keep the car glued to the road outstandingly for the level of performance that it has. The build quality of the car exceeds my expectations for it, however Ford's use of cheap plastics in its construction leave something to be desired. The car is relatively cheap to maintain, so far not requiring any extraneous costs outside of anticipated maintenance. Getting nearly 40 miles to the gallon, depending on how you drive, the car far exceeds my expectations in it's efficiency department. As far as the appearance, it leaves a little to be desired with the clashing aggressive front-end and relatively mild body-lines and rear, and it gives the impression that the car has more power than it does (The wide open front bumper would fit an intercooler nicely. You listening, Ford?) Overall, the car is fun to drive with its above-average handling, but ultimately fails in the performance sector. It's efficiency and cost of ownership make it a very average car, however.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Efficiency, cost of ownership, handling.

Cons: Poor power, cheaply constructed interior, shoddy body-design.
