Ive owned the HHR SS with the 5 speed manual for 4 years and I cant imagine why GM stopped making these. Big fun to drive, handles like a dream and acceleration that every car should have. Interior storage is a little sparse and not being able to tow a small trailer limits the utility value. I was able to haul a 60 flat screen tv though.
Handling Ranked 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe worse.
"Lower center of gravity, lighter weight, Brembo brakes, turbocharged."
Looks/Style Ranked 1977 Pontiac Astre better.
"The styling back in the late 70s was mostly dumpy. Big ugly bumpers, oversized everything. The Astre just seems to correct the uglys of the era."
Back Seats Ranked 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe better.
    "Shoulder room"
Would Buy Ranked 1977 Pontiac Astre worse.
"Biggest bang for the buck. 30 mpg and 260 hp in one package is hard to beat."

Good Car — Nothing too positive or too negative. Throw back design. Family Friendly. Averages 28 mpg. easy to maintain. Reliable. Peppy. Don't have to worry too much about being carjacked. With the back seats folded down plenty of cargo space. Comfortable for four adults.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Reliable, cute

    Cons: Small SUV

Love This Little Car. — This car is amazing for people who need cargo space and great gas mileage. The back seats go down and create so much room for everything. It's also really comfortable for being a smaller vehicle. I've put 30k miles + on it and it still runs wonderfully. Definitely a perfect fit for a family car or a small business.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: -Awesome Gas Mileage
    -Lot's of cargo Space
    -Enough room for 5 comfortably
    -Nice looking Interior
    -Durable

    Cons: -Oddly small window shield
-Lot's of crevices to lose things in

One Of The Best Cars I've Ever Owned! — The cornering, the style, the gas mileage, the power and looks from everyone are second to non. The panel adds so much more to the looks of this car for me, combined with a 5% tinted back window and dark side windows it adds mysterious look. It corners extremely well, the gas mileage had been as high as 41mpg on a FLAT long stretch of road, 32-34 are the norm. With a tune and over 300hp this car is a blast to drive and not feel guilty about it. I love this car and would recommend it to anyone.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This car has the looks, the power and the gas mileage. I can pack the back full of equipment and still know down 30 plus mpg.

Cons: One of my only complaints about this car is the arm rest on the door panels could be a Lot softer and it is hard to see a stop light change if you get really close. Also a awd version would have be wonderful, trying to get all the power to the ground in a fwd car is a challenge to say the least.

Great Everyday Car Or Out Of Town Vechicle. — The car gets great fuel mileage, handles very well, have alot of room in the front and rear, have nice cargo area, have lots of air bags for safety. I dont like that the brakes seem to wear very fast.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Gas mileage and roomy.

Cons: Brakes wear out to fast.

Call Him Harvey! — The Chevy HHR is a great little SUV for a family car. Has a lot of pep and great on gas.. From Power Sun Roof to Heated Leather Seats and a Great CD-Radio Sound System, this car is fun to drive...!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Room enough inside... Fast enough outside... Great gas mileage... Handles and turns nice !

Cons: A little too low to the ground !

Great Little Car With Lots Of Bells And Whistles For The Money. — I felt spoiled and pampered in this car. Unfortunately I think this little car would be happier in town or in the city. I love the looks of the car, how easy it is to get in and out of. Not at all cumbersome like some lower sitting cars but more like sliding in and out of a small truck or a van. The lumbar support in a heated seat is like going to a spa. Some days I did not want to get out of the car when I got home.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: 28-29 miles per gallon in town! 30-31 on the highway! Need I say more. Ah, but I will. Remote start, heated leather seats, sunroof, CB player with premium Pioneer sound, auxilary hook up for MP3s and smart phones, front wheel drive.CUTE!

Cons: I live in the country and on a small hill decided to get my own four wheel drive instead of using my husbands.

Family Car — Would have liked more if I would have gotten it fully loaded. Rides a little rough but the sound system is great maybe the radio could tune in a little better. Seat always need to be power and the battery life of the clicker should last longer and it should come with 2.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Roomy

Cons: To low to the ground

I Like It, It Wont Do What My Suburban Will, nor Would I Expect It To. Get One And See. — First of all I love the"retro" look of the HHR, I had a 53 Chevy panel truck in High School, and it reminds me of it. The model I have is the LT2, we had leather seats added and the factory spoiler, we also have the 2.4 ltr. upgrade which has a very noticeable performance difference over the 2.2 ltr. We are still getting use to the size as we also have a Suburban and a Tahoe. So far the vehicle is great to drive and no quirks around town or on the highway. I would highly reccomend this vehicle to anyone, with many packages and styles available. Another winner from Chevrolet

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun, solid economical, priced right.

    Cons: none

A Great Family Car For The Price. — A great family car for the price. Excellent mileage and plenty of cargo room. So far, no mechanical issues. It's got some pep, but it's nothing sporty.
