2008 MINI Cooper Clubman Review
I personally hate clubmans. Theyre big and awkward and dont even feel like a mini. The only reason i got the clubman is because that was the only mini available in my price range at the time. Had i been able to wait a little longer, i would have tried to get an 06 or 07 mini cooper s. Currently searching for one. Would not recommend a clubman if youre under the age of 70.

Disappointed — We were initially delighted with our stylish and fuel efficient little car that was big enough for our family of four, including two small children. However we have only had it six months and it was one week off the road with an oil leak two weeks after purchase and now the fuel pump has blown. So it has been hugely expensive and very unreliable. It had only done 67 thousand Km and had one very responsible owner and a good service history. Apparent from that we lost the spare key and every thing that needs replacing costs a fortune.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Gorgeous looking and fun to drive.

Cons: Very expensive when things go wrong! Too many things going wrong.

A Let Down — The car is something I have always wanted, well I ended up getting one and so far am regretting that I have. Small issues costing big $$ to fix even when doing labor myself. Otherwise the car is pretty snappy, fast little thing! that is for sure.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great Mileage

Cons: Seems to have lots of little issues

Pretty Great Car For A Single Person Or A Couple. — Not much as It is pretty awesome. That car does well in traffic as it can speed up fast and slip into any spot. The size places a big advantage in Vegas where the parking is minimal and the traffic is wild.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Turbo car that is fast, but also gets great gas mileage.

Cons: Well not much from what I've seen.

Fun To Drive, Not To Own — This car can be considered a Gateway to the BMW brand - high quaity materials are used in its constuction and it is expensive to maintain and operate. The driving dynamics are good for a FWD car, very neutral in the corners.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great power delivery, good transmission, very responsive steering w/great feel, cute looks.

Cons: Gas mileage only fair, sunroof quit opening-very expensive to repair, burns oil, runflat tires are very LOUD/HARD/Expensive.

Fun Sporty Car That Gives You The Feeling You Are Driving A Car 5 Times It's Cost. —

This was a great and fun car to own! I am glad I purchased the Clubman over the standard MINI. The extra length added a lot more cargo space and back seat room. Plus the suicide door provided easier access to the rear seat. Granted my Clubman was an "S" and it was pretty well loaded with Performance, Luxury, & Technology packages, but I felt like I was driving a $100k ferrari. You get the looks and stares, and the tight cornering and handling just running to the grocery store still sticks in my mind! I would HIGHLY recommend the Technology or Navigation package in any MINI. The LCD integration makes simply settings and tasks 1000 times easier with the idrive system as oppose to using the blinker stalk and button pushing. I have to admit though, I never wanted to take the mini on a long out of state trip simply because it had no spare tire. It did have run flats, but that just didn't give me the confidence I needed to drive 300 miles or more passing through the middle of no where. The worst repair situation I had came after I waxed the mini. I had a large static discharge come off the microfiber rag on the headlight and if fried a secondary computer. MINI ended up repairing it for free, but it took 3 weeks of waiting and wondering. Had it not been covered outside of warranty it would have been a $750 fix. I have full maintenance coverage, so I didn't have to worry, but costs to get oil changes etc. were pretty pricey.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks, Styling, fuel economy, performance

Cons: Cost of repairs, Availability of repair facilities in certain markets, No Spare tire

Strangers Stop Us To Ask About The Car! People We Don't Know Wave To Us And Smile! — The AWESOME Mini Clubman! We talked about choosing DRIVING on a vacation as apposed to taking a Plane. It just seems like so much fun, who cares if it takes us longer to reach our destination. We'll arrive in STYLE!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Everything! We keep finding more cool options than we could have imagined!

Cons: nothing! this car is AWESOME!

Red Rabbit — Car is a "tame sports car", has the opportunity to be a well handled, and quick car, but is just as fun (and more economically smart) to drive slow and enjoying the scenery. Excellent amount of leg room and space in interior. Only concern is that the car is almost too small! Sometimes driving the mini makes you feel like an insect

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: High fuel economy (30-city), supercharged Engine, Excellent Handling

Cons: Small in stature, four cylinder engine, and the large radial clock in dashboard.

Love It — The vehicle looks great and is solid! Great acceleration and braking, more like driving my motorcycle than a car. Very fun to drive, but sturdily built to still provide a strong sense of safety. Never had an issue with the car, replaced the tires at 40k. Too much fun and great for commuting.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great handling and speed, gas milage 30+, easy to park, lots of storage, roof rack makes additional toys easy to transport

Cons: Nothing
