I Absolutely Love It! — Is tough in the snow and great on back roads. Lots of space with extra storage in the back under the floor. Seats up to five people. Heated seats which is a major plus in the winter. Plus it has a sun roof.

Pros: Has everything you could need in an SUV.

Cons: Uses a lot of gas.

Good For Traveling — This vehicle was good for it's gas economy, comfort, and power. handling was good not the best brakes were great. ABS was a little sketchy when you really needed to stop. the dash had a very unique look to it gave it class.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: heated seats, 3rd row, fold away 3rd row for more cargo space.

Cons: High mantanance cost, faulty sensors

Hey... It's A Hyundai... And I Like It! —

We were needing to replace a 10 year old station wagon. I really wanted a TDI VW Sportwagen, but found them to be out of our price range. I had never really thought about a Hyundai Santa Fe as a possible replacement, but upon looking at a few, really started liking them. It really has all the practical passenger / cargo attributes we liked about our old station wagon without being a STATION WAGON. Not to mention the fact that there were lots more Hyundai Santa Fe's floating around on the used market than there were used TDI VW Sportwagens that were within our used car budget. Upon doing some internet looking on Car Gurus (and others) I determined that a 2007-2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with a V6 was what I wanted. While certainly no powerhouse SUV, it is plenty adequate as a daily driver, grocery-getter, all around all purpose vehicle. We have been very impressed with the build quality, low noise levels at highway speeds and overall feel of the vehicle. Steering is light, but predictable, and there is not a lot of bouncy, swaying sensation while driving as I remember from SUVs of the past. If you are in need of a good all purpose family vehicle - don't dismiss the Santa Fe's just because of a perceived negative impression of the Hyundai name. I'm sure surprised after having actually driven one. There are a ton of these out there for sale, so be picky like I was and find a good clean one with the equipment you want. And, now since the new 2013 Santa Fe's are out (new body style) this generation 2007-2012 should be even more affordable and available as current owners trade them in on a new one.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I've been very impressed with the low interior noise level in this vehicle.  Very little wind, tire and road noise.  It seems like a lot of thought went into planning convenient storage nooks and good ergonomics in the Santa Fe.   I still associate the Hyundai brand with cheap little - not very good - cars.  So far, this Hyundai has impressed me as a solid built, good quality SUV.

Cons: Resale value will probably not be as strong as Toyota and Honda, but that was not a primary consideration in this purchase.

Liked It Better Than The Previous Model — Nicer than the previous -2005 Models. more space and very smooth, same engine as 2006 azera. the 2005 model was too smal (knees against dash), 2005 model had 4wd that was very noisy. did not like the back door either.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: nice

Cons: storage in back can be bigger.

A Lot Of Suv For The Money — When we first settled on the Santa Fe I didn't love the look of it, but it's grown on me over the years. The interior is comfortable and looks good. I did like the 3.3L V6 as soon as I test drove it. I find the brakes a little soft, but I have no complaints about the handling, and we've had no major issues in 5 years and 63k miles.

Pros: Good value, comfortable ride, powerful engine.

Cons: Poor MPG, soft brakes, questionable styling

Uh — Never buy a hyundai, is what I learned when I got this vehicle. It did not even have 17000 miles and it would stall out while driving. It was very boring, as far as gadgets and cool stuff. Overall dissatisfied.

Pros: sucks

Cons: everything
