The four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine gets between 18 and 21 miles per gallon; the 4.0-liter, 6-cylinder engine gets between 14 and 18. The six-speed manual transmission, 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine gets between 18 and 21 miles per gallon; the 4.0-liter, 6-cylinder engine, gets between 15 and 19. Drivers like the power and roominess of the 2006 Jeep Wrangler, but it is noisy, and poor gas mileage is a major complaint.
