The passenger side window will go down but not up. The motor has been tested and is working. The switch has been replaced with the same results. All other window work.

The 2006 Honda CR-V combines the attributes of a traditional SUV with a nimble, flexible, and efficient car-based platform. It is carried over from a fourth-generation redesign that was introduced in 2002 and received a facelift for the 2005 model year. Those changes have been carried over for 2006.
This nimble SUV competes with the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, and Ford Escape, representing a growing and competitive segment of compact crossovers. The CR-V operates as the more refined player in this segment and offers comfort and efficiency for daily driving.

The CR-V shares a platform with the Honda Civic, Honda Element, and Acura Integra. Despite this car-based DNA, the CR-V has many traditional SUV style hallmarks. It has a tall profile, an angled front bumper, and a spare tire mounted to the rear. The front headlights and grille design fall in line with the visually upbeat design language, like that of the Accord and other members of the Honda family.
Inside, the CR-V has a clean, focused design that bridges form and function. The radio is mounted high in the dash for ease of access, with the climate controls down at the bottom of the center stack. Between these elements, there is a helpful tray and cubby. To the left, the CR-V has an attractive and clean instrument panel, giving it a sporty vibe.

The CR-V comes with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 156 horsepower and 160 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD) through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The AWD CR-V is also available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The automatic is operated via a helpful dash-mounted shifter, while the manual shifter is located in the floor, between the front seats. Though Honda calls it 4-wheel drive (4WD), the CR-V lacks a transfer case with low-range, and so it’s actually an AWD system.
The CR-V’s car-based DNA leads to refined driving characteristics. Acceleration is adequate for getting around town and getting up to highway speeds and will provide miles of hassle-free and comfortable driving.

We keep talking about the car-like underpinnings of the CR-V, and it really pays dividends in the layout of the vehicle. The car platform allows for a spacious, flexible cabin that makes the most of the CR-V's footprint. The CR-V has 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, and with those seats folded down, it provides up to 72 cubic feet of cargo space. The competing RAV4 offers 36.4 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 73 cubic feet with the seat down.
One thing to note about the CR-V’s cargo space is that is accessed by a side-hinged rear door and opens sideways. This is also true of the RAV4 and is a bit unconventional. Some may like this door hinge placement, as it allows you to easily crack it open a few inches or a couple of feet to quickly place or access an item, but it also means you have to be mindful of opening it when parallel parking. Some may prefer this, especially if they park in a garage, but others may find it awkward.

The standard stereo setup comes with four speakers and an AM/FM radio. Moving up to the EX increases the number of speakers to 6 and adds satellite radio. The EX also adds an external temperature display and adds audio and cruise controls to the steering wheel.

The CR-V comes standard with 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, as well as stability control, emergency braking assist, and an anti-theft engine immobilizer.
It also comes standard with dual front side airbags with front passenger occupant detection and front and rear head airbags.

The most efficient version of the CR-V is the front-wheel-drive (FWD) version, returning 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, 23 mpg combined. The next-most-efficient version is the AWD version with the automatic transmission, which returns 20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, 22 mpg combined.
The manual transmission and AWD combination sound fun, but it is the least efficient, returning 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, 21 mpg combined.
Base MSRP for a 2006 Honda CR-V is $20,395. The EX with AWD will likely be a common build, starting at $23,750. The most expensive trim, by starting price, is the Special Edition, which comes with AWD and starts at $25,450. That pricing is pretty much on par with that of the Toyota RAV4, the CR-V’s biggest competitor.

I have been driving the CRV since 2004. They changed the body style in 2007 and I can not see out the back window. That is why I still drive a 2006. It has side, front and curtain air bags. They are great in the snow and enough gagets so I do not get in troubleFeb 12, 2022

It's Name, and qualities the CRV has to; offer and to Showcase the options the lx, ex, ex-l models have first of all. We brought the car for my wife in 2008. Previous owner put 76,000 miles on it in two years driving for business so almost all highway miles, so we knew we were getting a good used vehicle. Super reliable and had plenty of room for her to haul stuff around. Gas mileage is great and plenty of zip for a four cylinder engine.Jun 19, 2014

First and only brand new car I have ever purchased. It's an EX model with lots of standard features but lacks interior details that a comparable Chevy or Ford would have that make them look nicer. Can't beat the reliability of a Honda. I've bought 1 battery, replaced front and rear pads, changed spark plugs and serpentine belt in the 8 years and 178,000 miles. Hard to describe the front seats. They aren't bad but they aren't comfortable either. And everyone who owns a CRV seems to agree on that point. Rear seats are awesome! Cargo room is great. Towing is adequate. This has been the finest car I have ever owned. It never once failed to start and was impressive in winter weather. I would not allow my daughter to drive a car that was unreliable or had mechanical issues, she attends a college far from home. I fell she is safe everytime she drives it.Apr 29, 2014

I like this car because it's compact but has a lot of cargo room. The seats fold down to make a bed and that's cool. The getup and go for this car is pretty good which is nice if you need to quickly merge into traffic without interrupting the flow. It has a few rattles but that's to be expected...lol.Dec 14, 2009

When you live in a humid climate, the last thing you want to encounter is sweating in your own car!
This is where the Honda comes first....the Air Conditioner (clearly the only thing we people consider first in the Gulf!)
The Chassis may seem spoilable at first, especially on road-legal speeds but don't be fooled; on a twisty road, your in for a roller coaster ride! All in all, it is still better than a Land Rover, trust me!
The turning ratio is awesome. Put in the great Straight-line acceleration and you got yourself a mini-lambo (metaphorically).
Haven't been able to test it for it's full potential yet.
But will let you know once i do...
Oh, and avoid going Off-road with it....it's not meant to take all that pressure. It's just given the name of an SUV...it ain't really one!Sep 17, 2009

I test drove a 2006 honda crv equipped with a leather interior, heated seats, sunroof, and ofcourse awd. The car drove and handled amazingly good. lots of trunk space, definately comes in handy during the winter. If you get the chance, I highly recommend picking one up. Jan 13, 2009

This is the car my parents have got. We also have a Saab 900 SE '96 but this is the car we mostly use. My parents chose it because my mom wanted to have a mid sized SUV and also because its safe.
I think it is pretty nice. It isn't very fast, and not the most fun car, but its pretty comfy and there's plenty of space in the back (where I usually spend my time) and it is surprisingly reliable. We have owned it now for like two and a half years and nothing has happened to it (yet), although the front window cracked in the winter because of stone damage and we haven't fixed it yet..
but overall it is really great value for money and great for long trips. although it can't go offroad like the real-deal SUV's. or can it? I really don't know we don't test the limits because my dad drives really boring. oh well

I decided to go with the EX model - it still has plenty of bells and whistles:
Power windows, power door locks, anti-lock 4 disc brakes, etc...etc...

This is more the wifes car then mine. But I do get a chance to drive it once in a while. This is the base model EX without four wheel drive. It gets around well in the snow very well. Like Hondas base models come very well equipped, with cruise control, AC, VSA. Get this is even has a table in the back just incase you need to play Texas Holdem while on the road :) Nov 12, 2007

My mother just bought one of these. I admit; I was trying to steer her towards the Toyota Rav-4. However, she didn't like the pushy salesman there, and went with the CRV instead.
The car is very sharp. It has clean lines and is pretty to look at. Of course, I wouldn't know much about the acceleration, as my mom drives like, well, my mom. =) However, it does seem to have great control.
Of course, everybody's favorite feature is the floor of the trunk which doubles as a picnic table. Too cute!Oct 03, 2006

Burning odour
My 06CRV has a like tire burning odour over the right rear tire after a trip! I have serviced the brakes and the callipers with grease and everything looks fine. Even the emergency brakes are served.
