The 2006 Dodge Caravan isn't much different than its 2005 predecessor, which introduced the Stow 'n Go option in the Grand Caravans. This feature earned high marks from reviewers and drivers for its ease of operation and versatility.
Trims are unchanged from 2005, with SE and SXT and the C/V available as either regular shorter wheelbase models, or the larger Grand Caravans. What comes as standard on the Grand Caravans (leather seats, anti-lock brakes, power windows) are all options for the regular models. Regular SE models come with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder 150-horsepower engine, while SXT and the Grand Caravans come in either a 3.3-liter or 3.8 liter V6, with 180 and 215-horsepower engines respectively.
Drivers still rate the 2006 Dodge Caravan highly for its comfortable ride, hauling capacity, and value for the money, but expert ratings have dropped a bit, particularly in areas of reliability. Generally a quiet ride, more so in the V6 rather than the 4-cylinder engines, use of Stow 'n Go increases outside noise.

Ive always been a fan of any Dodge vehicle but the overall rating of the caravan makes it the safest minnie Van on the road today no matter what the year model is

It has been a wonderful vehicle. The family has downsized so no longer drive it. Long trips are a pleasure in this vehicle and gas mileage is comparable to many of the new cars on the market now without the price.Aug 17, 2013

I have owned a Dodge Caravan for the last six years. Never had a minutes trouble out of it. Great vehicle. Very strong engine. It has a lot space, plenty of room for family and friends. Would recommend to anyone that wants a reliable vehicle. Sep 19, 2012

It handles well in any weather. I haven't needed to repair anything since I got it a few months ago. It gets decent gas mileage. It's not really a fun car to drive, but it carries the family where we need to go.Dec 31, 2010

This minivan mainly good for family use, but that's its only use. Has very slow acceleration response and struggles on up-hill driving. However is very roomy, safe, and has good brakes only if if has good tires. I regret owning this "BUS"Jun 20, 2009

Like being higher up especially in the winter. Handles well on the highway and in the mountains. Has good acceleration when passing. Gas mileage is not great.
Lots of interior room. If looking to buy this vehicle, get the rear controls for heat and a/c as it is too hard to keep the people in the back comfortable either way.Oct 13, 2008

It has very good perfomance, good brakes, good handling, and blah blah.
The quality is kinda good, yeah i dig the car, i think sxt is better than se tho.
The look is good -5 *s- i kinda like it, i just hated the front.
I don't drive lmao, but i just like it lol.

Loss of power and bad gas mileage
My 2006 Caravan has roughly 120000 miles on the engine, and has started having real issues with driveability and gas mileage. The van starts up normal, and very slow acceleration is fine. If you attempt to go at higher speeds, acceleration is extremely slow, sometimes not even allowing the transmission to shift into higher gear. Doesn't feel like there are any misfires. If parked, the engine will only go up to 3000-3500 rpm, then will top out and drop a little and alternate back and forth. I have changed the plugs, wires, EGR, Crankshaft Position Sensor, both O2 sensors, checked ignition coil, and flushed/changed the transmission filter, all to no avail. Anyone have any ideas what can be going on?
