For years, Chrysler heard complaints from drivers about how cumbersome it was to remove the heavy rear seats from its Dodge Caravan minivan. It took them a while, but in 2005, the Dodge Caravan introduced Stow 'n Go seating, a fast and easy way to reconfigure the second and third rows of this minivan. Where Honda Odyssey had been doing this for a while, the Caravan is the first minivan to offer it in the second row as well as the third row.
The setup allows for a multitude of seating configurations. Seats fold absolutely flat into the floor, or can be split where one is down and another is up. The third row seats can be turned to face the rear. When the seats are up, the floor compartments act as alternative storage. Stow 'n Go is a big hit with owners and earns high ratings from experts, but is available only in the Grand Caravan models.
Also new in the 2005 Caravan are minor surface changes to the grille, fog lights, and new back seats. Inside are optional side airbags for all seating, more cushiony seats, and reclining seats in the second and third row. And if you could possibly need any more storage options, an overhead rail allows you to attach a DVD screen and removable storage bins. Pretty soon they'll find a way to put storage bins in the steering wheel as well. The optional UConnect, attached to the audio system, is a hands-free wireless connection to your cell phone.
People buy minivans for their storage capacity, and this probably explains why the Dodge Caravan has maintained its top position for 20 years despite complaints of an underpowered engine and constant repairs.

This is a must and great car for a large family or family that loves to travel go to sporting events or the beach. you can get a lot of things to fit in the van and great on miles. May 18, 2013

its a van, not too much on gas dvd is great for family during trips its 7 passenger and it has captain chair, not much on maintenance, control is great and handling, just like any other van acceleration is not that much the car is too heavy for its engine.Jun 06, 2012

I like the roominess of the van and of course, the stow-n-go seats. The back seats aren't all that comfortable, but I seldom ride back there. I like being up higher off the road. The wide windshield is really great.Jan 08, 2012

You are looking at a great family vehicle -- loaded with the special edition accessories. DVD System which allows you to plug in external sources (wii, xbox) which is great for long rides. The interior is in awesome condition - professionally detailed inside and out. The carpet and leather heated seats look great.
The Kelly Blue Book price for this vehicle with all the options included for excellent condition is set at $8,615. I am listing this vehicle for sale at $8200 discounting for paint damage to the left rear bumper (see photo). This van is great and has been very helpful for our growing family (we have one on the way!) We do hope that it will bless another family as well.
The Special Edition SXT package - allowed a special option of paint which this van has. The special Pearl Coat Atlantic Blue. The color is gorgeous and drew my wife to it right away when we purchased it. In the interior the Special Edition package included a carbon fiber look around the front middle dashboard where there is located the CD player, duel temperature climate control and DVD systems.
Other added accessories that we've added: Front bug shield and both front window air deflectors. These add a little touch of sport.Sep 21, 2011

It's a minivan. Need I say more. Someday I hope to own something a little less practical. It's a V6 so ...at least it has a little pick-up and go. It's a nice silver colour. Do I sound excited yet? No. Right you are.Feb 06, 2009

I hate to love my van!!! It loks like a pos and its not waht i wanted but it never lets me down it comfortable to ride and it quiet. Its great when i need to usse it to move stuff and great for cargo. Like i said me and that van have a love hate relaationshipSep 17, 2008

This may not be a rare or gorgeous vehicle to some, but its made for me. It has an automatic ramp for easy access and automatic sliding door. The rear lowers on hydrolic air pillows. It has custom side facias. Its a deep sea blue with slight gleaming specals. All creature comforts. Aug 13, 2008

We loan this car for our business, we removed all the rear seat to clear the space, so we can transport stuff. This car is powered by a V6 3.3L engine, developping around 180HP at the crank spend a littlebit more fuel than the toyota. The car is heavy, but with the seat removed it seems much lighter. So far we don't have any problem with the motor, or other mechanical things. But we had : Air bag issue, cooling fan issue, computer lock door issue, which is covered by the warranty, more or less important.. The handling is great for a van, never raced it though, there's no rpm counter in dash.

We have had for 3 years and are now installing what will be the 4th water pump. Every time you hit passing gear too hard or too long it shears off the water pump blades and overheats. Previously had to do serious front end work, replace fuel pump and the had to go in two times after install to seal off gas smell inside van. Honda next time.Jan 05, 2008

2nd row bench compatible with 2005 Dodge Caravan
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan with a 2-passenger 2nd row bench; the floor has grooves for a 3-passenger bench. All the 3-seat benches ones I've seen for the Dodge Caravan, though, are a single back. I'd like instead to get the kind where the middle folds down separately. Is it possible, then, to get such a seat assembly for a different make or model, and have it fit my car? If so, what other makes/models can I look at?
