2003 Dodge Caravan Preview summaryImage

The 2003 Dodge Caravan said goodbye to some of the 2002 trims and hello to an old friend. The eC and eL trims only lasted a year, probably because no one knew what they stood for. In the regular models, the Sport is out, but back is the Caravan C/V, which last made an appearance in 1995. The Sport trim is still available in the Grand Caravans. Engine options remain 2.4, 4-cylinder in the regular models, and 3.3 or 3.8 V6 in the Grand Caravans. Fuel economy averages 19/25.

New options in the 2003 Caravan are electroncially adjustable brake and gas pedals and an optional power sunroof on the ES. The AutoStick auto/manual transmission is no longer available as of 2003. All cars are front-wheel drive, although AWD is available in some Grand Caravan trims.

Even in the face of growing competition, Chrysler is still the big winner in the minivan market, selling over 350,000 this year, mostly thanks to its roominess, quiet ride, and affordable price. The biggest problem to look out for remains multiple repairs and transmission troubles.

I love this vehicle. It is very reliable. Can take long trips and be comfortable while riding. Very good on gas. It is a family vehicle. Has 3rd row seating. The 2nd and 3rd rows fold down and lift for more cargo room.Oct 06, 2014

Lots of space for hauling, kids, gear, dogs and stuff from the hardware store. Very comfortable ride. As a family battling cancer this is the preferred vehicle for trips to the hopsital due to the ease getting in and out and the comfort of the ride.Aug 12, 2013

The Caravan has excellent acceleration for a vehicle its size. The seating is very comfortable. Handling is okay, but remember its a minivan. The interior is very spacious with room for the whole family. There are some issues with the power lift gate in the back the gate did not want to work properly. There are some pops with the front suspension with tight turns.Jan 11, 2013
