Audi's new crossover sports wagon is a powerful people mover with a lot of style and luxury that make it fun and comfortable for personal or family use. The 2006 Audi A3 2.0T manual features a turbocharged 2.0, 200-hp, DOHC I4 engine with 6-speed manual transmission. As such, it gets great gas mileage, at 24/32 mpg. Inside, you'll find the usual great Audi elements, such as cruise control, center console, telescopic and tilt steering wheel, security system, split-fold rear seat, cargo net in the trunk, and automatic climate control.
Options add power front seats, leather upholstery, a sunroof, and navigation system. ABS, traction control, and stability control are all standard. There's a lot owners like about their 2006 Audi A3 2.0T manual, including its responsive action, speed, hatchback versatility, and crisp handling. The turbo is a big favorite, as are all the standard features. Complaints list a cramped back seat, not enough cargo room, the high price of options, loud tire noise, and a desire for quattro.

The only difference between the 2006 Audi A3 2.0T automatic wagon and the 2.0T manual is precisely that -- the transmission. Both are paired with a 2.0-liter turbo I4 rated at 200-hp, but the automatic transmission is a 6-speed direct shift gearbox, or DSG. This is essentially a clutchless manual-like shift that anticipates the next gear for a smooth transition. Other than that, the 2006 A3 2.0T automatic has all the same standard features, such as ABS, traction control, stability control, split-fold rear seats, cargo net in the trunk, cruise control, power mirrors, windows, and locks, and anti-theft system. Sunroof, navigation system, and leather seats are optional. A sports package adds a sports-tuned suspension.
High points for 2006 A3 owners are the turbo speed and the solid handling, which make the sedan both fast and fun on the highway. They also like the luxurious interior, cargo versatility, and overall styling. The DSG transmission is a blast. The biggest problem with the 2006 A3 is that the sunshade either breaks or does not work well because it is perforated. Other complaints are that the parking brake hits the armrest and some of the cheap plastic material breaks easily.

The final trim in the 2006 Audi A3 sports wagon offering is the powerful 3.2 quattro. It gets a bigger engine because it's carrying more weight around with the all-wheel drive quattro system. Unlike the other two models, the 3.2 is not a turbo, but it is a V6 that hits an incredible 250-hp. It is also only offered with the 6-speed DSG transmission. That means the sports wagon is not only versatile and good for hauling, but also a lot of fun to drive on its own, with or without cargo.
While it comes with all the same features as the 2.0T, the 3.2 adds leather seats and a 12-way power driver's seat. The seats are also more supportive. Other extras include a rear spoiler, one-touch power windows, and steering wheel stereo controls. A sunroof and navigation system are still optional. Like the 2.0T, the 2003 3.2 suffers the same complaints about the broken sunshade latch and poor placement of the parking brake. But drivers love the quattro performance, and the powerful engine and DSG that are good on acceleration and overall speed. Interior comfort, such as heated seats, is also a big plus.
