The 2006 RSX remained almost the same as the 2005 RSX. Don't be fooled by the drop in horsepower, from 160 to 155 for the standard trim or 210 to 201 for the Type-S; the engine's horsepower is actually the same, but the adoption of new SAE (Society of Automobile Engineers) standards resulted in different ratings.
After a restyling in 2005, the 2006 kept the same exterior. The interior also remained the same, evoking the usual argument among drivers about whether the back seat is even worth having. It barely seats a child, let alone a full-grown adult.
Taller drivers love driving this car, citing the ample leg and headroom. Conversely, they don't like to sit in the back seat very much, as the sloped rear window gets in the way.

What owners say
"Overall, drivers really enjoy the 2006 Acura RSX for its fun driving experience, strong reliability, and good fuel economy. Many love its stylish design and solid handling. However, some feel it's a bit underpowered compared to its Type-S counterpart, and a few wish for better interior features like the sound system. Overall, it's seen as a great daily driver with a sporty feel."
I love so many things about my car such as; the power it produces for being a 4 cylinder, the front bucket leather seats may be my favorite feature, the gas mileage is also great, but overall my favorite thing is the cars reliability. What I wish it had; all wheel drive, power and memory seats, heated seats, slightly better handling. But 1 reason it gets great gas mileage is that the car is light compared to other vehicles with better handling therefore; I would compromise a little of the fuel economy to gain slightly better handling.
August 18, 2014Bought this car at the end of 06. No problems yet. 6000 miles. Really good gas mileage and love the Vtec.
February 11, 2008perfect little car. 2 door, sharp looking, great gas mileage.

April 12, 2024I love my car! It's tons of fun to drive, especially on long trips. Unfortunately, it is not a fan of the crappy roads in the area as the suspension is very sensitive to potholes! This car has great handling and corners very well! Additionally, it has excellent acceleration for those moments when it is necessary to get away from the idiot drivers!
September 27, 2008This is a great car, from the looks to the handling, the power is decent, but would've been more with a type-s. The car comes stock with racing- similar bucket seats and the interior is just as nice as the exterior. Great all-around car. The VTEC feeling is amazing when it kicks in.
January 17, 2008I love how well the car handles and drives and can be easily modified to make more power. The suspension is great not to bumpy but still sticks to the road great. And this car definitely has the looks that everyone is looking for in a car.
August 2, 2013I bought the car for the engine. It gets great gas mileage in regular driving, and takes off when revved. The seats are comfortable for someone of my stature (6ft). It has excellent build quality. The bad: Third gear sucks, the A/C sucks too much power at the low end, the seats steal change, and it's ridiculously expensive to insure. I consider these issues to be minor. In the end, it's a fantastic. It's practical for daily driving, and fun at the same time.
July 1, 2008Only thing I ever had to do to my car was replace the battery because it had the original stock battery still installed from 2005. Great on gas, nice appeal, overall great car! I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.
March 6, 2015perfect starter car that had class and the right amount of horsepower, nothing else in the price range at the time fit all the right attributes like this car. Could always have more power but you will find an S type for that.
July 7, 2013Great car, great gas mileage and fun to drive!
