Gas Saver — It has been a great car for me and an awesome gas saver. My commute is 62 miles one way. I average about 42 MPG. If I drove around 50 mph, I would average around 50 MPG. Overall, the performance of a hybrid versus a regular Civic is pretty much the same in my view. I've always had great experiences with Honda vehicles and the Civic Hybrid is no different.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Saving money on gas

Cons: Not as stylish as other cars on the road

Honda Civic Hybrid Commuter — Great commuter, but not comfortable for more 2 hours at a time. After many problem with my last vehicle I bought this car cause I did not want to deal with any problems or hassles. Oil change every 7500 miles and service yet at 75k miles. I will be sure to put it in for service one I break that 100k mark. Plus this car doesn't look as horrible as a Prius.

Pros: Great commute vehicle

Cons: very basic with no amenities available.

Slow Down And Anticipate Breaking In Wet Weather — The low resistance tires have very poor traction on wet pavement - spin, skid, and slide on acceleration and braking even at slower speeds. Not worth the expense of an accident, I'm going to swap tires for something with more grip.

Pros: 44mpg mixed hwy/city

Cons: poor traction on wet roads

Great Car-only Flaw Is Squirrely Handling On Wet Road Above 60 Mph. — Very reliable, low maintenance, adequate acceleration (5-speed manual transmission). Reserve energy good for only about five miles of mountain climbing, but gasoline engine adequate to carry car over mountain after battery reserve exhausted (70 mph up 4% grade with light load).

Owner for 3 years, 1 months

Miles Driven per Year:10,000

Pros: Great fuel economy (50+hwy, 45 city), nimble handling around town.
