The 2004 Mazda Tribute with the high-end ES trim package and four-wheel-drive system was powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that generated 201 horsepower. A four-speed automatic transmission was standard. A manual transmission was not available.
Standard features for the Tribute ES included air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power steering, dual front airbags, a keyless entry system, a tilt steering wheel, and an AM/FM stereo system with a CD player.
Other features included side airbags, cruise control, fog lights, and steering-wheel-mounted controls, as well as leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and anti-lock brakes.
Drivers liked the Tribute's responsive handling, smooth ride, interior roominess, solid feel, storage capabilities, and affordable price, but thought the seats could be more comfortable and the shifter could be sluggish.
