When you dont state 1500 or 2500 your just adding to the confusion created by consumer guide who seem to be on a self described attempt to punish GM & others for not putting all the good stuff on their light weight models not intended for commercial work capacity like planting soil or sand by we do not rate so may hide their existence.

The 2002-2006 Avalanche is basically a pickup body with a much better weight balance due to being placed suburban chassis. This truck has the amazing ride of a suburban and will be tough to get stuck in anything but getting it buried. I was incredibly impressed. And as odd as some people found them, the side boxes are a great addition, no needing to lean over the body for simple tools and such.

Love My Avalanche Best Truck Ever. — I bought this truck to replace a truck and a crossover something for work and hauling kids and materials. someone mentioned to me try an Avalanche.. Why not? Truck look , truck style, comfort inside, power under the hood, modern toys and gadgets what more can you ask for. This truck drives like a dream and best of all its still a truck you can bolt on your stuff add upgrades and by god its a CHEVY.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: More than a Truck it actually has room inside for people as well as additional cargo.

Cons: Actually having to put hands on the rear window running the risk of potnetial damage not to mentiion the poorly designed resin surround from cracking around the edge of the window.

Great Truck — This truck has taken my family on many trips and vacations. Seats are very comfortable, back seats have plenty of leg room for adults. The heated seats are great when it's cold or your back aches. Three passengers fit comfortably in the back seat.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Love this truck. Luxury of a car & utility of a truck. Low maintenance.

Cons: Love this truck. Parking are sometimes too small.

Love This Truck — Best truck I have ever owned. I wish I did not have to sell this truck. I have to commute to far to work now. I need to get a small car for commuting. This truck rides like a Cadillac. Great Power and handling. You will forget your riding in a truck when driving.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: All the above

Cons: Fuel costs for my commute

Love My Avalanche! — Love this truck one of my favorite vehicles ive owned. Glad I dont drive far though gas prices would make it impossible to own if I did at 13 MPG. Maintenance is pretty simple on it there is plenty of room to work on it if needed and the parts are common and inexpensive

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Love that everything in the back or in the toolboxes can be locked up.  Love that I can use it when I need to hit Home Depot or just take the kids to soccer

Cons: Pretty much only the fuel economy

Reliable And Safe — I really like my Avalanche. I had a red one prior to this one that was wrecked. My Avalanche has hauled everything from feed, to groceries, to animals and held up remarkably well. It rides well, has plenty of interior space, is comfortable on long trips and has enough power to do whatever I need.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Does everything I have ever needed it to do.

Cons: Biggest con is the gas mileage, which wasn't as much of an issue in 2003.

I Fell In Love At First Glance! — I wish the bed cover held its color over the years. When I purchased the vehicle, the cover was a dark gray almost black color. Due to the sun and age, the cover is not a light gray and not very appealing to me.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Still a head turner!

Cons: Gas mileage
