I Loved This Vehicle! — I loved everything about this vehicle. It was great for having 3 kids and toting them to school and appointments. We went from a small Saturn 2 door vehicle to this SUV and it was definitely an upgrade for us.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Sporty and tough - very nice SUV to drive.

Cons: Gas burner!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: SSuper fast with bolt ons.

Cons: 9mpg

Awesome Suv — We love the appearance of first generation Durangos.. The real only downside to this vehicle is the fuel economy. But that is Dodges normal thing. Fair trade off for me though. Don't know if ours is the exception to the norm but we find it very comfortable for long or short trips.. It is the AWD version and has a ver good suspension. As far as maintenance goes it has been the norm as for most vehicles. We just have nothing bad to say about it.....

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: We love everything about it

Cons: Fuel economy is not the best. But a fair trade off for the bad weather ability to go anywhere

Looks Good But Won't Purchase Another One. — I thought it looked nice but it didn't seem dependable as my others. I had too many problems and got rid of it. I'm bought my escalade after that. This car was a gas guzzling machine. It was a v-8

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I thought it was an okay car, it looked sharp. All black!

Cons: The front ball bearings and roders and brakes seemed to give me problems if I remember correctly. The air conditioner too.

Perfect! — I have had this car for eight years now and cannot find anything I like as well to replace it with. The new Durangos just don't have the same look and feel as the older ones and other trucks are either much too big or look like stations wagons on steroids.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Love this truck!

Cons: Can't think of anything I don't like.

My New, Old Winter Beater — Just got my 2001 Dodge Durango a few weeks ago to use as my winter driver. It's too early for a total review but so far so good. I'm going to keep it under 5,000 miles a year on this and I'm hoping to get at least 30,000 miles out of this truck without any major issues. I guess we'll see.

Pros: Always liked the looks of the first gen Durangos.

Cons: Gas mileage

Amazing Vehicle For A High School Student, Or Anyone Looking For A Winter Driver. — The only thing I didn't like was the fast that you can't get a suspension lift for a Durango in 2001 to 2003, and that it didn't have a HEMI option. Other than that, like I said, for the 235hp it's rated at, 11.5 mpg isn't very exciting. Is capable of hitting 16 to 17 mpg on the highway if you keep your rpms under 2500.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Very reliable, cheap to fix. Four wheel drive works great! If properly maintained it will last a lifetime!

Cons: The fuel efficiency isn't great for the power the 4.7L produces. I averaged 11 to 12 mpg with 90% of my driving at 45 to 55 mph. I did a computer swap to give me a 2nd overdrive gear, which helped a ton on the interstate. What you give up in MPGs will come back to you in reliability.

Huge Interior, Race Car Like Handling, Off Road Beast. — This truck is awsome! it has the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. It is so fast you will forget you are in a seven passenger SUV. It handles like a race car. Forget the minivan, this is what you need.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Best Truck I have ever owned.

Cons: None

Wonderful Suv For Family — Love my Durango! If I were not working 30 miles one way to work every day, I would keep my Durango as long as I could. It is such a quiet SUV to drive and the handling is excellent. Definately worth the money.

Pros: Powerful engine, smooth ride

Cons: Poor gas mileage
