This is truly one of the most beautiful cars made in the past 30 years. The original model which came out in 2000, was head turning at the time, and still is. 2001 saw the introduction of the spoiler due to safety concerns, but while I prefer it without, 2001 model still is very true to the original concept. In later years the car began to conform to a more normal and expected shape. For my money the older versions are the classic editions.

These are nice cars that have depreciated a lot. This German ingenuity is sometimes over rated. Parts and labor for general maintenance is expemsive. Like a new timing belt. if you can accept that they sound and feel good.

The Audi TT, starting in 2001, has become a market unto itself. No other car has been able to create anything like the TT, or certainly not in the price range. Good performance, solidly built, a very nice car.

I just recently purchased a 2001 Audi TT Roadster, and am really impressed. I’m a big guy, 6’ 5” tall and over 250 lbs., so I need leg room, shoulder room, etc. The TT Roadster is remarkably roomy inside. Plenty of leg room, wide enough for each person to have a comfortable amount of space around them, and the telescoping/tilting steering wheel help ensure a comfortable driving position. Definitely recommend that bigger people give it a look. Since I purchased the vehicle out of state, I drove it 1,700 miles home. It is a great road trip car. While the suspension is tight, Audi has somehow managed to keep the bumps from impacting the passengers. And the 225 hp/207 lb ft of torque give it plenty of “get up and go” for passing maneuvers. I was also pleasantly surprised at the fuel economy, getting just under 30 mpg on the highways, most of which had 70 or 75 mph speed limits. Since this is a 2001 model, Bluetooth is non-existent; there’s no touch screen to control the radio, navigation, climate controls, etc.; and the seats are manual control only. But, to have this much fun driving a car, certainly willing to make that trade off.

This year did not have an adequate alarm system, Meaning it can be stolen with a screwdriver . I personally owned a tt 03, ti was unstealable, luckily for me, but damaged in the attempt, both sides an the steering column.

Fun, Sporty, Economical — Top notch! Want to buy a newer one. Love this car.. convertible for summer, AWD for winter. Solid little tank that handles well. Just a few issues with electric and air conditioning. Would recommend to anyone seeking a well built, fun and sporty car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks great! Convertible! Great gas mileage. Handles well. Fun to drive - turbo. Quattro/all wheel drive - great in snow.

Cons: expensive to maintain. gauges off center.

Daily Commuter Audi — LOVE it! this car is so much fun to drive and as far as the convertible top, it almost has no road noise. I;m sure the Bose stereo system helps drown out whatever small noise could creep in while tooling down a winding country road on a clear Spring day.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: this is truly a driving enthusiasts car. It handles amazingly and almost tells you when to shift the gears,

Cons: obviously, like most sporty convertibles, no back seat but does have a roomy trunk.

Just Eh — Nothing to write home about. some cool interior details. Better car than the competition for 2 seater german cars. Handled well but road stiff. Convertible top sensor was crap, wheel sensors went continuously. Never major work needed, but frequent small stuff. Not typical of most Audi, but overall still a fun little toy.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Fun little car.

Cons: No room for golf clubs

Head Turner Li Tt Le — i would love to get the updated version of this car. for a 2 door unique little car it is top notch in build and design the transmission, suspension are some of the best. the little engine is capable of so much more and you can get it for a relatively low price and it still be reliable everyday driver.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: timeless design and build quality. pretty easy to work on.

Cons: a little weak on the power to weight ratio. some turbo lag.

Purrrfect Driving Experience — I love everything about this car except I cannot take my mother on road trips with me anymore. So, I guess I need to get a bigger car. It travels in the snow like a snow mobile. I pass up almost anything on the road during the winter months

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling is amazing and it drives in the snow better than almost anything else. The hatchback allows you to carry a lot more than one would expect in a sports car

Cons: not a good passenger car
