Reliable Work Vehicle — Love this car. Dependable and low maintenance required. This rare 4 Cylinder engine has people coming up to me at gas stations offering cold hard cash to buy it- but I won't sell it! Paint has done well for being an outside car exposed to the sun and salt air in CA.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Rare 4 cylinder model. Easy maintenance. Great gas mileage.

Cons: Rides rough. Slow to accelerate to 60 mph.

Great, Reliable And Can Go Anywhere — This car is excellent. it is my first car and I plan on keeping it for a long time. It takes me anywhere I need to go, up steep hills even in rain or snow. I am never snowed in because the 4runner can go anywhere.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliability- 140,000 miles on it no problems except for a rear shock and a wheel bearing
My dad has a 2001 with 190,000 with few problems as well. They have been known to hit 300,000 +.
Off road ability, will take on anything you need (4wd).
Fuel economy- about 15 mpg- good for an suv

Cons: acceleration is a little slow, still fast enough for everyday use
no traction control-(feature first offered in 2000 but standard in 2001)

Love My 4 Runner — I love this SUV has ample room, rides great, drives great, decent gas mileage and has a lot of nice features as well as chrome bumpers for added safety. Gives you more protection than the plastic matching bumpers and all the windows roll down including the lift gates.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: great size, decent gas mileage great ride, I love this car, handles great and has chrome bumpers.

Cons: Only gets 18/22 mpg, repairs and maintenance is expensive on all Toyota

Fun And Reliable. Glad To Have It In My Garage. — I bought this 4Runner without knowing much about them other than the reputation of being basically bombproof. So far, have taken it camping, mountain bike races, and traveling all over. Really love this thing and glad I have it. I would definitely recommend a 4Runner.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Solid, and trustworthy. Reliable. Functional.

Cons: Not the greatest gas mileage.

Most Fun On Trails And Off-road. — The 4Runner has been a blast to drive off-road and on trails around the countryside. The are comfortable on short trips but get harder the longer you drive. Fuel economy is around 17 MPG on the whole, which isn't up to par with newer vehicles. With all that said, I still use it as my daily driver and would hate to part with it because it's such a versatile vehicle!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Strong drivetrain and pleasant ride.

Cons: Low fuel economy and slow V6

I've Loved It For Years — This rig has been great for anything from hauling family on trips, to hauling my foosball tables around for tournaments with or without a trailer. Even though she's got a lot more miles left in her, it's time for me to update to a newer one.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Looks great, drives great, goes ANYWHERE, hauls ANYTHING

Cons: A little steep on the gas eating, and maintanence is a little high
