It's A Fantastic Commuter Car. Cheap, Reliable, Easy To Fix, Small And Nimble. Great Fuel Economy. — Reliable basic transportation. It's a total 'stripper' with pretty much no factory options...no power windows/mirrors/door locks, no air conditioning, no expensive bits that need constant attention, it doesn't even have a tachometer. And it's ridiculously fun to drive, lightweight and nimble (in it's way), only 12 or 13 feet long so any hole in traffic is big enough, and it has a 5-speed stick shift. Hard plastics and cheap feeling materials abound in the interior but it is the rock-bottom model in Hyundai's lineup from 1998. It's cheap as hell to run, parts are cheap, working on it is easy, and it gets 37mpg in the city even when I drive it like it's stolen! Insurance is also pretty easy on the wallet. For what it is, it's a great little car. And as a driver of a highly customized M3, I love that people don't get all bent out of shape when I'm zipping through traffic in this car. I seem to get a pass no matter what I do where I would get honked at and shown everyone's favorite finger for doing the exact same things in my BMW.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: cheap, cheap, cheap

Cons: no cachet

Reliable, Not A Head-turner — Very nice for a compact economical car, especially considering gas prices today

Pros: Great mileage, barely ever has any problems

Cons: Not much pep, not the most attractive car to look at, but hey, if you wanted a looker with losta HP, you'd dump 40K on a Corvette wouldn't you?

My Car Rocks — Amazing on gas, very strong, very reliable. Wouldn't change a thing about it except for the amount of miles it has.

The Worst Car I Ever Owned — I bought this not knowing what it looked like. Asked a friend in jhb to source me a car and flew up to sign for it. Boy was I sorry! Don't try this at home... It was total crap. Been in a horrible accident (about which I was not told of course) and I spent a small fortune maintaining, fixing AND getting rid of it!

Pros: Quick, not a heavy drinker by slurps up oil...

Cons: NOT RELIABLE - seems like a box cart and not a comfy ride at all, especially long distance
