Honda is so happy with the public response to its product that it has made virtually no changes for 1997. Although it may not be the fanciest car on the road, it just might be the most comfortable automobile in its class. Priced between $6,700 and $8,725, standard features include a large trunk, spacious interior and excellent console design, all along with great gas mileage. What else can one say other than if you simply want a dependable car, why not try this one?

This car is one of the best cars you can buy for under $3,000. It is very reliable and will get you where you need to go with no problems. It is very good for road trips. Although it is not a huge car, you can fit most things you would bring along when you travel. It is great on gas aslong as you're not a crazy driver. It is a perfect first car for anyone.Dec 30, 2013

Performance: Very, very fast, and accelerates like the devil.
Build Quality: It's Honda, so its very reliable... if it has been taking care
of, if not, you are going to have lots of time having fun with the front
lights.
Appearance: Dull on the exterior, and a nice place to be in the interior.
It's a grandpa's car, so don't expect nothing "stylish", nice, but
conservative.
Cost of ownership: The car almost runs by itself, Gas mileage is very,
very good (drove it with emergency lights for hours). Maintenance is
very cheap.
Fun Factor: Fast, Accelerates well, the steering is super precise and
super sharp, the stereo is remarkable, and it has a sunroof. Yeah, you'll

I purchased the care used with about 97k, now has 150k. It is sporty yet economical, and fun to drive. It's a 4-dr EX with a sunroof and is just a reliable fun to drive car. I'm hoping it holds up a few more years.May 23, 2011

the car is great value for the price, its fun to drive, design is not oudated, interior is well finished.
The trunk is spacious, the motor runs quietly. Everything for a smooth and fun ride. Sits 4 adults very confortably.

Performance- good acceleration for a 4 cylinder, good brakes, handles great
Quality- Superb. Doesn't ever break down.
Appearance- silhouette is awesome. needs paint.
Cost- a little expensive
Fun factor- This car offers soo much to the driver.

Nice car to drive around, gas milage is ok would be better if it was a four cylinder. The only problem I have had with it is a warped oil pan, and the leather interior. If your looking for an accord for a family car it is reliable.Sep 02, 2009

simple 4 cyl. standard car. LX does not have rear disc break so, breaking was not that quick. Cost of ownership was very low cost. This car is fun to drive on highway. Easy with interior controller.. Exterior looks sporty... Aug 12, 2009

It looks better than the newer versions of accord (except da new ones), It has great speakers because it's already loud and has a nice base by just using a an amplified receiver. It is easy to customize and has low maintenance. It's a Honda, Duh! Jul 02, 2009

I like my car because she is the first car that I have owned and driven with my license. Gas mileage is good, it's comfortable, but I do need a new timing belt. The brakes are needing some repair also.Jun 26, 2009

Only modifications that I did to my car that kept the car in an inspectable state were cat back exhaust and cold air intake system. This made the car sound great. I averaged 0-60 times of about 6.5 - 7 seconds which is not bad for a car that gets over 30 mpg. Although the car had over 160,000 miles, the maintenance costs were minimal. First off, I <3 my Honda. These are some of the most reliable cars on the road. I haven't had a problem with this car and the odometer reads a scant 225,000 miles. :D The interior is ergonomically designed, everything is in reach and easy to adjust. I would have to say the exterior is one of the best looking cars of it's time, and even now. I have done some cosmetic modifications that really make it look aggressive. But it's a far cry from The Fast And The Furious. (thankfully, I hate those stupid ricers :P) On to performance, this car is not crazy fast (remember is a family sedan) but when it has the 5-speed manual transmission, it's a peppy car. It accepts modifications like it's own, and you really notice a difference when you install just a few bolt-ons. Left stock you will get about 32mpg on the highway, and even with a few mods it still returns the amount or even greater if it's properly tuned. It really just sips the gas. :)
Though it's not the fastest car it is certainly one of the most fun to drive. The steering is exact, the brakes are strong and pedal feel is solid, and when you need to get on the highway, there is plenty of power to get you up to speed quickly. All in all this is a great car to have, it's reliable, good looking, and fun to drive.Aug 27, 2008

Gave 5 stars just because I had an mildly tuned H22A4 motor in it. Managed to keep up with STis and EVOs on Streets of Willow [summer session] with only Apexi WS dampers, ST sways, Cusco bars, gutted rear interior and some cheap hard compound tires on 16x8 rims. It handles really well and turns into a beast at 3800rpm. The seats are comfortable and there's a lot of leg room for the driver and front passenger. The car is very aero dynamic and it hugs corners like no other. The low-cut dash also gives the driver a great view.Jan 07, 2008

The 170hp V6 gets it moving quickly, but dont expect to race. Handling could be better, but does have double wishbone front suspension, as opposed to McPhearson Struts. Its a Honda ,so it will last.Jan 05, 2008

Plenty of room, plenty of accessories, good smooth running car, no extra noise from the transmission or anything like that. Usually get about 35 mpg in town. No signs of "slowing down".May 06, 2007

97 accord no crank, no dash, power windows radio
97 accord. Replaced ignition switch. Can hear a relay click when turning key to any position. Number one position, hear a click, no dash lights radio anything, number 2 position battery light on dash. Only light on dash, no gear indicator or fuel gauge. When I turn to start I hear relay click but start will not turn, or start. I have no power windows, sunroof, radio. However the Key chimes, horn works, headlights and hazards. I can also hear the fuel pump. Any suggestions?
