Great Car. — I like the looks of it, plus the convertible top, which mine is manual, is awesome. Really easy to use and i don't have to worry about a motor going out. The fuel economy is around 30 for the highway which is pretty good and it has enough power to do what you need to do, just don't race in it lol. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: solid ride Cons: seems to have a check engine light that people cannot figure out. Effects the power of the car. |

You Wont Go Wrong.. — Awesome ride, bit of under-steer but with a lil fix on some suspension modz she 100's.. Performance wise id say the STD 2ltr mp9 is good, measures up to out local GTi oni a bit heavier due to the Cabrio modz.. Quality is good, almost 15years down the line n not much $$$ to be spent.. She a looker no doubt ;-) Minimal expediture, drive her well n she treats u beta.. THE MOST FUN IF HAD YET.. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: FUN FUN FUN oh not to mention in the SUN...lol Cons: wind noise every now n again, but den again every cabrio's like dat! |

Robust Stirdy Car, Beautiful Performance.... — Bad paintjob, need a new bodykit and new brakes. The engine are supposed to be replaced.... Pedals: Soft clutch, brakepedal a bit soft, rear end-loves to walk, but it's a convertible.... Cost; not too expencive, but these are hard to find.... Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Nice cabrio, good comfort.. Cons: The engine of these cars are "softer" than other 1,8 i |

Beautiful, Underrated Car — This car is highly underrated. Far too many see it as a typical girl car, but it's far more than that. Of course, it only has a four cylinder engine, which is the only way they came, but this particular one is also a Wolfsbeurg Edition and their convertible tops are practically indestuctable. Also, VW is the only company to use a glass back window in their convertables. The only problem I have, that is apparently common in this year of Cabrio is that the speedo needed to be replaced, but aside from that it's a wonderful car that just wants to run. Pros: Great gas milage, glass back window, durrable, relaible, convertable top, easy exceleration Cons: speedo dies |

Best Small Car I Have Ever Own. — My car has 114,000 miles on it. The paint is original. Had to have the air conditioning coils replaced. Other than that I have not had to have any other work except for oil, filter, lights and timing belt changed |

Ok For 2nd Car; Great For Warm Weather; Becoming A Classic — Fun to drive; very good gas mileage, good handling and reasonable in snow, expensive repairs; many VW dealers do not have experienced service technicians to properly service these older cars. Electrical system vulnerable to breakdowns. We are hanging on in lieu fo buying a new car hoping for car to stabilize its recent breakdown history. Sent away on two occasions to used part companies for cruise control module. Both "tested parts" failed to fix cruise control problem. Finally spent >$700 to have one of the parts restored and now cruise works. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Summer car with good gas mileage (30 MPG overall) Cons: Noisey, Electrical system constantly breaking down: expensive to fix |
