Love This Car — I like everything about the car Except doing repairs on it. Most of it is not bad but they put simple parts to replace in areas that make it next to impossible to change them out. Like an O2 Sensor. They put 2 of them on my model and one is deep down on the passenger side of the vehicle behind things that make it hard to get out. The other is someplace down below the car that if you dont know what you are looking for or at you have no clue what it is or how to find it. That goes for many things on this car. This is just one example

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: this is one of the best Lincolns I have ever owned. It runs great rides nice and has a beautiful look to it.

Cons: Fixing some of the things that go wrrng are next to impossible

Big Boat That Floast — wonderful car. very smooth ride. love the air ride. freeway gas mileage is about 22-25 mpg. city gas mileage is 17-20 mpg. the trans has a sloppy 3-4 shift which was corrected by putting the aod-e shift correction kit. now had nice firm shifts.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: love the car. never breaks down

    Cons: gas mileage

Love It. I'm Kind Of Bias Due To My Father Having One, But Still. I Love It. — This car is my weekend cruiser. Big and comfortable with leather all thru the inside. Power everything, big and spacious, plenty of power, and all the older style chrome trim and luxuries that i love. This works perfect for my weekend fun. Sits 4 adults comfortably, and the air shock suspention is amazing.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Comfort, power, style, and that old school luxury.

Cons: Air shocks known to fail. Motors tend to have frequent vacuum issues.

221 Inches Of Fun — One big collection of velvet funriture on wheels. Its an oversized barge as awkward to handle as wearing moose antlers in a telephone booth. Nice to drive, I am getting tired of strangers getting in the back when I am at the airport and asking me to drive them downtown.

    Pros: The thing is huge

    Cons: The thing is huge

200,000+ Miles And Going Strong — Never left me stranded. solid built frame over rwd vehicle . OK get up and go but ford should have used PI heads like on newer crown vics and mustangs at the time. stock single exhaust sucks. AODE tranny known or lockup/torque converter issues. Tonnes of room, nicely equiped for a car at that time.

Pros: Quiet/smooth ride. Highway fuel economy, trunk/interior space and options.

Cons: Notorious 4.6 modular valve seals and AODE torque converter issues.

Cheap Used Luxury, Fix The Suspension And It'll Get By — When Lincoln debuted this Town car in 1990 it was motor trend's Car of the Year. People might scoff at the 4.6 281 V8, but I think it puts out great power, especially with straight pipes. It does burnouts much better than my Electra did, and that had a 305. My power steering doesn't work, but it handles ok for the size of the car. The one major expense you should plan for with these is fixing the faulty rear air ride suspension (I just put in springs). Aside from that and the fact that fords rust like crazy, these don't seem too bad to maintain. Interior has a nice presentation, the digital gauges can be difficult to cycle through but there is a lot of info that the car keeps track of. Most people like the exterior styling, but I would have preferred a Cadillac Fleetwood if I were buying a full-size car from 1993. This car averaged 19 mpg in its heyday. I think this car would be much more fun to drive if I had my brakes working properly and power steering working, but I really love anything with a V8.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Luxurious, affordable, decent V8 power

Cons: Faulty air ride rear suspension, rust
