Sporty Car With Lots Of Options And Room — Very dependable car. The 3.8L V6 in this car is pretty amazing. I used this car to get through college and it did very well considering it had 200k+ miles on it. During the winter, it never had a problem starting. It handles well for a full sized sedan. It has independent suspension which helps, but, for some reason, all wheel disc brakes were left out. It accelerates pretty well and brakes just as well. The supercharger makes a nice whining sound to let everyone (who knows what a supercharger sounds like) know what is under the hood. I've heard some Bonnevilles with custom exhausts and they sound pretty good for a V6. The interior is nice and has a lot of options. There are 6-way seats with 3 different lumbar controls. The interior is roomy and makes for a good road trip vehicle even with 4 passengers. Gas mileage, in my experience, is about 25 combined city/highway with about 22 for city and 30 for highway.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Sporty luxury car that is fun to drive

Cons: None, unless you want something with better gas mileage

My First And Favorite Car I Will Ever Own - Even When I Get My 200 Mph Supercar Someday. — This car is my baby. It was was my first car and I drove it for about 8 years before retiring it long term storage about 2 years ago. I miss driving it. I always hear old car guys talk about "that first car" they wish they would not have gotten rid of.....well - I am not taking that same course....My future kids will sell this one when I die!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Only 6 years to go to reach "25 years old classic status"

Cons: None.

Its A Damn Good Beater — Most roomy car I have driven but it's a dieing beast. The 3.8L V6 gets things moving quite nicely. It's pretty bad with gas though. Its fun to drive fast in a straight line haha, and you can drift pretty nicely with it when there's snow.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: comfort, weed

Cons: it kinda falls apart

Its Nice — This car is my first car that i have ever driven! Ive beaten on it so much that im suprised its still alive! What i like the most is that the engine is entirely reliable. My mechanice told me that these cars no matter how bad they get that the engine will always run like its brand new!!!!!

Pros: Gets high acceleration so 1/4 its preatty good

Cons: the 2 gear is really long but then again it olny has three gears

A Love/hate Relationship. —

This was my second car. It was relatively young at 6 years old when I had it, but it definitely qualified as a beater where my previous 13 year old rusted out Volvo didn't. It was a big car. The ride was good. The engine was able to keep up at cruising speed and deliver relatively decent mileage on cheap gas. But mechanically, it was a financial drain. Between 10 July 1998 and 8 September 2004, I spent as much or more on this car's maintenance and repairs, as my parents did buying it. 5 days after I sold it to Carmax, while driving through the podium in a wholesale auction, something underneath its dash caught on fire and started smoking. That could have been me. Really dodged a bullet there. Service life: 10 July 1998 - 8 September 2004 (trade) Gasoline used: mostly 93 octane before 7/11/03, 87 octane afterwards. Per gallon price ranged from $1.039 (12/28/01) to $1.959 (5/23/04). Over 47000 miles, it averaged 21.55 mpg. A historical footnote, 93 octane gas cost me $1.499/gallon on 9/7/01. On 9/21/01, it was $1.559. It gradually dropped to the low $1's and didn't climb back to that level again until 7/8/02, when it was $1.579.

Pros: Good looking cruiser, could use some pimping.

Cons: A nightmare when it came to mechanical reliability

Boring — I recieved this car as a gift (with a minimal donation)from the owner of In-N-Out. I drove it for a couple of weeks before I left for a job out of the country. It was comfortable to ride in, but nothing special. I don't miss this car. The only thing good about it was the history behind the car. It was a corporate car from the In-N-Out hamburger chain

Pros: Comfortable, Leg Room

Cons: Ugly, Under Powered, 4 Door

1992 Pontiac Bonneville Se — I love my 92 Pontiac bonneville SE it has never let me down once and when i need it is their and always started right up for me. It is good forwho is looking for a safe family car. The gas mileage is good for me. It has alot of power coming from a 3800 Port turned V6 Series 1 engine that run like a champion and the car is very roomy and with large trunk to put alot of thing. I am getting 18-20 miles around town and about close to 30 mile to the gallion on the highway. My cars has 186,000 miles on it and it still going strong

Pros: Safe, very roomy, good family car, comfortable car

Cons: none

GuruSHJ89 says:
I have loved this car since the first two feet I have drove it. Surprisingly for a V6 from the early 1990ś it accelerates pretty well in a 3,600 lbs car. It is also very reliable. It sure does not have as much power as say a 1998 Cadillac Deville, but it can still lift off, and it also has a lot more reliability then the Cadillac. The only thing I do not like about this car is the fact that GM put the power steering cooler under the car. I also noticed that there is a cover on it too, so that makes it better I guess. The engine has 155,590 miles on it, and it still starts, stays running, and goes fast everyday with 27 1/2 years of age on it too. If I had to rate this car it would be a 10/10.

Power Ranked 1998 Cadillac DeVille better.
"I think a mixture of the Cadillac only being 400 pounds heavier than the Bonneville, but the Cadillac having 280 hp, comparing that to 170 hp is a big difference in horsepower for the weight of both vehicles."
Handling Ranked 1992 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD better.
"I think the Le Sabre handles better because it has better parts."
Value Ranked 1998 Cadillac DeVille worse.
"It is not necessarily features that make this car so great, but it is that this car sounds so much better than the Cadillac when it runs, and with how much more reliable it is, and the Cadillac has been taken care of in just as good of shape as the Bonneville, if not better, but the Bonneville runs and drives so much better, and it has way less rust the the Cadillac, the Cadillac is 6 years newer, and has less miles. Now if you explain to me how the Cadillac is better I would be so shocked. "
Would Buy Ranked 1992 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD worse.
"The 1992 Pontiac Bonneville goes faster than a 1992 Buick Le Sabre. That and a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville has more of an Chevy Impala look. "
