Other than a bump in price, little changed between the 1991 and 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300-Class models. The 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder, 177-hp power plant remained the standard engine across the model range, a 4-speed automatic was the standard transmission, and anti-lock brakes and driver's-side airbags remained standard equipment.

Car is very solid and comfortable to be doing long drives at high speeds on the
freeway. Parts are expensive even at mechanics prices, so don't buy one if you
can't afford to fix it; because the cars are getting older and will start needing parts
replaced.Aug 17, 2010

Its a diesel, so its a little sluggish off the line, braking and handling are
decent but keep in mind that this is a very heavy car. Its comfortable to
drive, and it looks good. Relatively cheap to maintain, except it likes big
repairs. It blew 2 head gaskets in 1 year, and this mercedes diesel is
known for bending connecting rods. I'm at 300k, and still going, but you
never know.Aug 13, 2010

Third Owner, purchased in June of '09 with 88,600 Miles
Records dating back to '91. From the post delivery inspection by the dealer prior to sale to the misc. part replacements to this date, no stone is unturned on this vehicle.
3.0 Liter Inline 6, Automatic 4 speed transmission sedan. ~180 HP--~200 ft/lb of torque. car cruises seamlessly and moves when it needs to. Incorporating the Sportline suspension options would make the car track worthy.
Anticipate around $1,000 a year to properly maintain a W124.
Styling is timeless, comes standard with any the aged Mercedes.
A simple walk around the vehicle, not even operating it, reveals a quality built vehicle with every detail having a purpose that will last for decades. Take care of the vehicle and it will take care of you.
Washed and Waxed on a weekly basis, the car is serviced and tended to in an anticipating fashion.
Modifications:
-Early C-Class Polished 15" 8-Holed rims
-Euro Amber Corners
-Euro Headlights
-Euro Wiper Assemblies and Valance Panels
-JVC Mp3 Unit
Couldn't be happier with this stately sedan and am looking forward to the years of ownership to come.Nov 10, 2009

performance- Slow acceleration at begining, But good Handling. Good brakes and good steering
Appearance- Clean, sleak interior. Very Roomy.
Cost: $3,600 but needs some fix and tune ups. about $37 to fill up. 17-19 mpg
Fun Factor:Very fun to drive, Handles amazing, SUPER FAST after 2nd gear. Just wish it had fast enough acceleration to burn out.Apr 14, 2009
It's a sedan. That pretty much says it all. However, as far as sedans go, it's near the top. It
accelerates reasonably quickly, but it handles like a dream. Turning radius is insane.
The car looks pretty good too in jet back with tan interior. Overall, a nice car.Jan 13, 2008

I fell in love with these in the late 80's (new in the U.S. in '86) and was happy to find one in good shape with few miles. Fifteen years on and the build quality puts many new cars to shame. I wish it had the 3.0 liter engine as the mpg gain for the 2.6 isn't great. At least the 2.6 is known for being more durable.Nov 25, 2007

I have a 1992 300 TE 4 matic station wagon. It gets spark. It has no fuel pressure at the engine. I have changed both fuel pumps. I have changed the fuel filter. I have changed the crank sensor. The fuses are good. The Distributor and rotor are good. I am confused. It turns but no fuel is going into the engine after all the new parts.
