Decent Everyday Car, However The 4 Speed Transaxle Leaves A Lot To Be Desired. — The car gets good gas mileage for size, engine and transmission. I don't think I'd recommend pushing hard on corners with stock - factory setup. There is reasonable front and rear leg room and trunk space (could be bigger). However the rear thick pillars and short rear windshield hinders rear visibility. The downside is the 4 speed Ultradrive transaxle, A604 or 41TE. A noticable symptom would be when the transaxle does struggles to shift and locks in 2nd gear. Otherwise the 3.0L V6 Mitsubishi engine and 4 speed transaxle works pretty good in terms of acceleration. Just after the powertrain warranty expired, a solenoid module gave out and unable to shift gears. Probably could have replaced it myself. At one point where the car stalled and another to verify any lights on the dash, it was caused by a fusible link touching the exhaust pipe (I think it was the crossover pipe) and melted and broke the connection. Near the 9th year of being on the road, the Lamp Outage Module would indicator brake light out when brake lights were actually working, I never got that fixed. Seats are comfortable on long rides and I know my head will not hit the front side post before hitting the roof. I wished the car came with the optional overhead console. On the floor shift models, coins could easily fall through where the shifter is. The car did come with a full size spare tire, a big trunk opening and decent size trunk pass through. As long as it has an automatic transmission, tow rating was 2,000 lbs. The car did not come with optional ABS, but also good it did not since the external wheel speed sensor and ring gear sensor is exposed to outside element, which could reduce or cause ABS malfunction. Despite transaxle problems, it is easy to perform work under the hood, meaning components are not crammed like today's cars. However I do not like the fact that it has a timing belt that is strongly recommended to be replaced in order not to risk breakage. I would say no to recommending unless you knew the transaxle was rebuilt/remanufactured with updated fixes and even then I am not sure.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: reasonable size, power and fuel economy, great on long rides

Cons: 4 speed transaxle is the most common problem

Clean Record With No Accidents.... Owned By 2 Other People — i hate everything about this car except that the seats are the most comfortable seats u will ever sit in!!! The 3.0L engine is pretty solid..... right now it leaks oil but that is getting fixed today..... the over all look of the car is only one rust spot and a few scraps but other than that its ok.

Pros: seats

Cons: everything else

Hooptie. — It gets you from A to B, really slowly, with slight drama. It's a slow slow car, with only 3 gears in it's automatic transmission, it'll wail when it's above 60, gets poor gas mileage, and it's kinda ugly. But, as an appliance, it worked, didn't have too many problems, it was roomy, and pretty comfortable.

Pros: Somewhat reliable, no major issues.

Cons: Everything else.
