Bad — For a first car, it wasn't terrible. Wouldn't recommend it none the less. Underpowered and broke down alot. Windows leaked, transmission was shot, gauges didn't work. Only paid four hundred for it and traded it in for 1400. So I guess I can't be that mad. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: none Cons: everything ![]() Looking for a Used Prizm in your area?CarGurus has 7 nationwide Prizm listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

It Last And Is Dependable — the invincibility of all the major components is quite remarkable no engine troubles no tannie troubles no problems with the radiator or fuel lines the body falls apart pretty easily though the windows dont wind to good the doors dont shut so well and floor board are beginning to rot but its 20 years old so.. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: the life span Cons: its falling appart |

'91 Geo Prizm: My First Car — My brother and I shared our first car, '91 Geo Prizm when we were in high school. By the time we got it, it was pretty beat up and rusty. It got us to where we needed to be though. The only problems I recall were: frost on the inside of windows, cigarette lighter/outlet didn't work, some trouble with the keys getting stuck and eventually the transmission broke. The muffler I think rusted off; it was quite a loud little car. I miss that car. Pros: Got us where we needed to go; pretty reliable. Cons: It was a little noisy; cigarette lighter/outlet didn't work. |

Loved My Prism! — Loved it at the time. With gas prices the way they are, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat! Performance wise, I had to cut the A/C off if I wanted to merge on to the highway and not get ran over. It never needed any major repairs, but the paint did fade from the bumper revealing yellow. Pros: Fuel efficient, great commuter car Cons: Not a lot of power |

The Prizm, Aka Toyota Corolla — I would defiantly recommend to anyone as a first car. Easy to drive (fast, slow, or sideways, lol) Pros: invincible engine and drive train. The best automatic tranz I've ever driven. Car will always down shift and red line if you floor it. Amazing visibility and very good handling. Also a very good driver position and orientation. Easy to become one with the car. lol Cons: Crazy Rusty. Underpowered and Automatic |
